The space
Get away from the daily routine and indulge in the magic of nature, in a protected area of the Natura 2000 Network.Savor the experience of living in one of the most popular and expensive areas of Chania Prefecture, the magnificent Platanias!
Enjoy a spacious, very attentive and clean house with a special layout and relaxing atmosphere. Features a/c,cable tv(Netflix)and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, multi, blender, electric stove and filter faucet. In one large living room with dining area and 3 separate bedrooms (one of which is a romantic but also a favorite of all children, attic), our guests can relax together in one place or enjoy some time alone in one of the numerous spaces available inside or outside the house. In order to get the most from the sea, we provide you balls, racquets, and beach towels. Just a km away from the national road, our home is also a great starting point for excursions.
Seize the chance to live in one of the rare seaside houses in the area, made of wood and stone.Wood has a remarkable ability to transmit oxygen, so sleeping in such homes is always enjoyable and healthy. The difference is particularly noticeable when compared to houses made of concrete and the knowledgeable health effects.
Wood is a natural insulator and is very effective in isolating cold and heat and that's why the wooden houses are cool in the summer and warm in winter.
Live next to a dreamy sandy beach with crystal clear waters an unforgettable rejuvenation experience.
Our house is located at the limits of Gerani and Platanias, with fantastic views over the White Mountains and the islet of Theodorou. The sandy beach in front of the house has a length of 2.5 km and its crystal clear water is a real attraction both to locals and tourists. Next to the beach there are many facilities such as sunbeds, showers, beach bars, water sport services and a lifeguard. Gerani is a small coastal village located between Maleme and Platanias, just 12 km away from Chania centre and 30 km from the International Airport of Chania. It is situated in a verdant valley with olive and citrus groves. Gerani offers many facilities: shops, pharmacy, restaurants, bars, super markets, bakery and grocery stores. It has a very frequent bus connection to Chania and the surroundings.
The city of Chania, the capital of the prefecture of Chania, the westernmost regional unit of Crete, is the most popular holiday destination in Crete and one of the most beautiful destinations in Greece.
Extension of the city, stretching to its west, lies the large coastal resort area of Kato Stalos - Agia Marina - Platanias ( the location of the house) where the frantic fun throughout the day and night, takes place in the beach-bars & clubs of the area.
Apart from the beautiful old town and the cosmopolitan areas of the north coast near the city of Chania, the prefecture of Chania is ideal for day trips where you'll visit exotic beaches and will see remarkably natural landscapes. You will also travel to different periods of the island's rich history, on the occasion of the monuments that you will encounter.

Other things to note
Chania is admittedly one of the most beautiful towns in Greece, as it is considered a mosaic of cultures, flavours, history, mountainous and coastal landscapes. But it's the people that play the most important role in the town's developments.
Your visit in Chania will surely start and end in the Venetian Harbour, one the most beautiful places in town. However, the Old Town will too make a great impression featuring a fountain, a stonepaved square, traditional houses, the Splantzia neighbourhood and St. Nicolas church, the hill of Kastelli -the old acropolis- as well as the iconic Venetian Neoria (arsenal), some of which have been turned into cultural centers. On the other hand, the new town featuring the Municipal Gardens and the aristocratic neighbourhood of Chalepa adds its own special charm to Chania. Here, guests can visit the house of Eleftherios Venizelos. Shopping options are available in the indoor Municipal Market of Chania, as well as in Machairadika and Stivanadika, where visitors can find handmade leather goods and samples of traditional Cretan costumes. And when the night falls visitors ought to make a stop in Kum Kapi lined with a wealth of restaurants, cafes and bars. Those of you who wish to party till dawn can head to the clubs of Platanias.
And a few words about Samaria...and particularly its famous gorge!
Hikers are sure to love this top natural attraction in Crete, as it's one of the most marvellous natural lanscapes in Europe. The people of Sfakia tend to call it Faragas, meaning great gorge, to express their admiration. It's the biggest among the numerous gorges in the National Park of Samaria and hides a wild beauty that magnetizes the crowds. The trail is easy to walk and organized rest areas with fresh water are found every 2kms. In the middle of the gorge, visitors will come across the remains of the uninhabited village of Samaria with its 14th century Byzantine church of Venerable Mary of Egypt, after whom the area was allegedly named (Osia Maria-Sia Maria-Samaria). For security reasons, the gorge remains closed from October to May. The exact dates may differ depending on weather conditions.
