A beautiful, open, airy apartment housed within a newly renovated apartment building. Centrally located on Van Dyke Street in the gorgeous tree-lined West Village, just steps away from Red Hook Coffee, Detroit Vegan Soul, Craft Work, Paramita Sound (record store), and the internationally regarded Sister Pie. Less than 4 miles from the Downtown core, you're just a Uber away from Downtown, Midtown, Corktown, and all of the amazing experiences Detroit has to offer.

Relax, you're home.

The space

This is a newly renovated apartment housed within a 1960's building in West Village, Detroit. The building was purchased in 2016 and renovations began on the interior units. Exterior renovations (bear with us on a little bit of ugly outside) will be ongoing continuing in Spring 2017.

Home includes a beautiful, fully-appointed, open kitchen, fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a full-sized bed. This building is peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the West Village, and a short jaunt from Downtown or anything else you'd like to do in Detroit.

Kitchen includes electric stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days.

You'll find a single bedroom (open to the main room, but sectioned off). Beautifully comfortable full bed, full closet, and amazing natural light. The main bathroom includes all of the original tile work with a full-sized tub/shower and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom on one of the comfiest beds this side of the Mississippi.

The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and a desk. 46" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix.

Outdoor space is simply the common walkway and parking lot, but you're only a block away from the West Village dog park that turns into a Biergarten in the summer on weekends, as well as the patios of the various amazing establishments half a block away. Or just walk the neighborhood and see the glorious homes of Indian and West Village from the early 1900's.

The apartment is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication.

Interaction with guests

I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. I'll be available for any questions or needs most anytime of day, but will be fairly hands-off during your stay, unless I can give recommendations or ideas for things to do. I'm here for you and to make your stay absolutely awesome.

Other things to note

As mentioned, this building is still in a bit of renovation mode. Some of the units still have contractors in them during business hours (but we don't hear this tucked in the front corner like we are). Additionally, the outside of the building and the alleyway to access the parking lot isn't the prettiest, but we promise it's an awesome, safe area that's just waiting for the spring thaw to get a bit more love!

First and foremost, treat our home as if it is yours. Also, we do have neighbors that are incredibly awesome and gracious with us having different people in and out of the unit all the time, but take care to keep volume down at appropriate times, not be on their space near their door, and be courteous when outside the apartment. AirBnB is a community, and it makes all the difference when you treat it as such.

Do not under any circumstances host others during your stay. Strictly the number of guests on your listing guest count are allowed within our home.

Only smoke outside of the apartment and please do not leave litter on the patio.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Jesse’s place. It is a great looking place and was extremely clean. We enjoyed the West Village area as well. Some great coffee and food a short walk away. It is also easy to get to Downtown (12 min drive). We would highly recommend.

Great location. Cool little neighborhood with a couple awesome restaurants: Detroit Vegan and Craft Work (fried chicken, baby!).

It's everything that Jesse described in the ad. The apartment was perfect and Jesse was very professional. The process to book was clear and seamless. The neighbors were even nice. ;)

Cute apartment in Indian Village, near a good coffee shop and two restaurants. There's a MoGo station less half a block away, and it's on the 48 bus, which goes straight downtown. If it's hot -- as it was when I was there -- the AC is inadequate. Be aware that you can only enter through the (sketchy looking) alley at the back. If you arrive by taxi (like I did), don't get dropped off on the street side.

This apartment is beautiful!!! We loved the space and the neighborhood. Great food and coffee right around the block. We stayed here the weekend of our wedding and it was so nice to come back to such a lovely apartment after such long days. When we arrived there was even a card and a bottle of champagne waiting for us! Jesse was great and very communicative making our stay stress free. We would defiantly stay here again!

Jesse's airbnb was fantastic. It's a tight knit group of folks in the apartment complex...really friendly and felt very safe. The unit is just as described; cozy, comfortable and just a short drive from downtown. And as with all his places, the style was on point.
