The property is very nice and has an amazing view of the Nile River and Botanical Gardens on the west bank. The Nubian village is very nice and filled with many nice, young children that are more than excited to be able to say "hello" and shake your hand. They don't see many foreigners anymore. Next door is a guest home where a few Nubian-Australians work. They are very nice as well. Best way to get to the property is by using the free Mövenpick ferry and walking through the hotel and walking along the riverbank. Hotel security is nice enough to help you. Just say you got lost. Mohammed can arrange many different services for you but like everywhere else in Egypt, haggle for a better price. Do your research and know how much you should pay for whatever you're looking to use so you don't get ripped off. We never saw the host, but he can be reached easily enough through (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Overall, a very nice stay. Worth the ferry ride back and forth to the east bank.

My wife and I stayed at Mohamed's place for 3 nights. The location on the island is nice. You can get there by public ferry which costs between 0.5 to 1 EGP. Mohammed on the other side offered us a private boat to the house for an outrageous price of 80EGP, we kindly refused the offer. To put it into perspective, we took a 1 hour motorboat ride around the islands for the same price. After we refused the offer, Mohamed waited until the last minute to give us the address (an inaccurate one also). So we felt that he really wanted us to take the boat to make more profit. House is full of ants, including the shower head. Internet worked part time. The AC that only cooled the living area stopped working on the last day, when we contacted Mohamed he said that he will send someone to fix it on the next day knowing that we are leaving by then. The location and the price are good especially if you want to escape the city, it's a calm nubian village.

We had a great stay at Mohamed's place even though we never met him in person. The place is right next to the Nile, nice and quiet. Getting on and off the islands is easy with public ferry or Hotel Mövenpick free 24h ferry service.

Mohameds place was clean and his support staff was very helpful. Mohamed was available by phone but not in person, i never saw him on this trip like I did the last trip. I believe he may be employed. For me this was no issue since this wasnt my first time staying at his place. The summertime in Aswan is very hot and the AC in the unit only cools the living room. The two bedrooms have fans but they just circulate the hot air. The washer works fine but does not dry clothes but they can be easily dried by hanging them. Overall the stay was great!

Mohamed was great. He arranged the visit to Abu Simbel and the Unfinished Obelisk for very reasonable prices. He walked us through the souk and served as interpreter during negotiation with vendors. I highly recommend him as a host. The apartment was exactly as described. The A/C was so good I decided to sleep in the living room. The views from Elephantine are unforgettable and travel to and from the island serene and beautiful. The Nile is a gorgeous place.

Nice location. Perfect place to learn and live the Nubian culture. People are very welcoming. Internet access was very slow, don't expect anything here. Terrace is wonderful, beautiful view. Very calm.
