A verry special place. Not for the ordinary run of people, but for those who seek quietnes, rest and tranquillity, but also are a bit more practical than the ordinary run of people.

The space

If you are still interested I have some more information. I suppose you are arriving by car.
From the end of the road there is 1,5 km til Andsletta. From the parking place there is a cross country path to the house. (20 min), At arrival and departure I will be there and give you transport assistance by boat , give you a hand to install you and give some useful information.
But you need some basic information to evaluate if the place is what you want. It is a fantastic nature out there. Good for hiking, not flat and easy, but it gives you the most spectacular views when the weather is good.. (HM Quin Sonja have walked a hiking path there).
The wildlife are very many and white tailed sea eagles can be observed daily, seal, king eagle are also observed and there are at least 3 otter families in the area. For the kayak people the region is an eldorado. (Artic Sea Kayak Race are arranged in the region every year), and you can have some nice trips with the boat that belongs to Andsletta. There are fish in the fjord for a nice dinner and for those who can there are sea trout also. If you are bringing a dog it is ok, the house are surrounded by a fence to keep the sheeps outside.
- To bee comfortable and able to do outdoors activities I will recommend a sporty dressing with good shoes. I have to admit we do not allays have midnight sun from a cloudless sky, we are in the arctic with the Norse sea at our doorsteps. - A food shop is "close", but you have to walk the path to the parking place and from there it is a 10 min drive to the shop. . Power is from a 220 volts aggregate if necessary, but most demands are satisfied by the 12 volt solar powered system. It gives light and charges mobile phones etc. It is good coverage for mobile phones (Telenor) By the way: it is light all day/night and the midnight sun is often a guest.
- It is a gas stove and a gas refrigerator and a gas heated shower. A good old wooden stove gives a good heating and is good for cooking too. There are no TV (Good forbid) washing machine or dishwasher there.
The place offers a comfortable living for up to 8 persons
- it is 4 bedrooms, 3 room with 2 single beds an one with a double bed.

Guest access

A 14" boat with a 10 hp outboard motor is for rent at 200.- a day + fuel.

Interaction with guests

I will be present at arrival an departure. Renting out the place for less than 3 days will just give me a lot of stress, so 3 days are minimum.

First, it must be said that Kjell was an exceptional host, who went above and beyond to ensure that our stay at his wonderful cabin would be comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it was helping to load and unload our bags into the boat, or his returning later on his own time to bring life jackets for our 2 young boys, Kjell made sure we were well taken care of. The cabin itself has all the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay, but as Kjell mentions in the listing it is sensible that one have hiking boots, especially if you want to make the most of the available outdoor activities in the area. In choosing to stay at Kjell's cabin, we were looking for a place where we could "unplug" and experience nature. We were not disappointed as within minutes of our arrival we saw a beautiful sea eagle soar overhead. During our stay we enjoyed the use of Kjell's boat in the fjord, picnicked on a small nearby island, fished, hiked in the surrounding hills and even made a day trip to some nearby fishing villages to experience the local culture. All of these activities are easily accessible from Kjell's cabin, and the scenery in the area is among the most beautiful we saw during our entire trip to Norway. All in all, our stay at Kjell's cabin was incredibly pleasant and a most memorable experience for our family. Our young boys are already asking when we can return, and we hope to do so soon. The only caveat being that we plan to stay for longer! If you're looking for a place where you can get away, experience nature and engage in outdoor activities in beautiful surroundings then this is a fantastic place to do it.

Kjell's cabin was an excellent retreat to seclude ourselves from the daily routine and enjoy some days surrounded by true nature. He himself was a great host and took care of all our needs. Despite being quite secluded the cabin has all the comforts that you might need to feel at home in the wild. If you want to get away or simply enjoy pure nature you should take a look at Kjell's cabin.
