Our home is peacefully situated in a small street within walking distance (600 m) from Mombello village where you can find a local bakery selling breads and pastries, a small supermarket, bars and a restaurant.

Laveno is 3 only kilometres away. From Laveno you can easily hop on any ferry and explore Lago Maggiore. Regular schedule towards Intra, Verbania, Stresa and the magical Borromeo islands with their ever-blooming tropical flora of palm trees, magnolias, roses and camellias. The cable lift brings you up on the "Sasso del Ferro" from where you can enjoy the wonderful landscape of the snow-capped mountains of Swiss and Italian Alps reflecting into the deep blue waters.

Day trips can easily be made to the not-to-be-missed eremo of Santa Caterina del Sasso, built into the cliffs of the lake, the towering castle at Angera, the lively, waterfront town of Luino boasting on Wednesdays the largest open market of the area.

3 Km away is the lakeside town of Arolo with its cute little beach and lake-front promenade. Nearby, Cerro and Reno are charming little villages with promenade, marina and sandy beaches where you can enjoy the sunset in one of the summer bars. Here you can get information about sailing lessons for children and adults and boat rental.

In addition to the water sports, be sure not to miss the great opportunities for paragliding, mountain biking, cycling or trekking.

You need a car to go around, public transport do not reach conveniently the house.
In the property there is a covered parking place for 2 cars. Malpensa airport is only 40 minutes away by car.

For a shopping or sightseeing day trip to Milan we suggest to take the train in Laveno.

We had a great time in Laveno. We were with 2 childeren (6 months en 2 years) in the nice house of Cristina. The garden is amazing. The communication with Cristina was very well, she gave us some nice ideas to do. Unfortunately there are no restaurants or something like that within walking distance. But nevertheless we enjoyed our holiday.

We adored this well equipped house in Laveno-Mombello. The kids enjoyed the garden while we enjoyed the peace and quite of the area. The house is well located to explore the area: conveniently close to grocery stores, boats,... On the other hand the house was also far enough from the big tourist crowds.

Nice house, big garden, great hosts! The road to grocery stores and close-by sights is not ideal for walking or biking and therefore, a private car is required. Great location for day trips (by car) around Lago Maggiore, Milan, Lugano, Bellinzona and many more.

Cristina always replied quickly to our questions. She also provided us with helpful information regarding things to see, do and restaurants beforehand via e-mail. As for the house itself, it's quite big (bigger than it appears on the pictures) and has a big garden. The house has all one needs: from a big kitchen with dishwasher to a big living room. It's niceley located abt 2 kms away from the center of Laveno. We visited the house with 2 little kids and they enjoyed the garden and the toys.

Nice and welcoming house as described and pictured. Rustic and comfortable, very kid-friendly, with large and nice garden, including aromatic garden (sage, rosemary, ...), and sand pit. Cristina has been very helpful with our baby-beds needs, always responded promptly to messages, and provided great ideas for activities with the kids.

We had a lovely time in Mombello! We received plenty of information about activities and the area from Cristina before arriving in Italy! Very good and easy communication via emails before/during and after our stay. Very helpful. The house is gorgeous and bigger than we expected! Likewise the garden. Hopefully we will be back one day :-))
