We really enjoyed our stay in Estoril, making full use of public transport to get around. We visited Sintra and Lisbon for day trips. The beach in Estoril is a 10-15 min walk, Cascais is a 25 min walk from there. The apartment was very welcoming and cool and we looked forward to returning there at the end of the day. There is an market area selling gifts/ food etc on Ave Portugal which is worth a visit as it also included some pop up restaurants.

A charming and traditional apartment, located a short walk from Estoril and an easy stroll along the promenade to Cascais. There are plenty of restaurants near, the casino - and during the summer, an amazing evening market with traditional music, food and crafts just down the road. Margarita was extremely welcoming and easily available - she teaches in the school just next door. Margarida was able to suggest a great transfer from the airport too.

We are a family of five and this apartment perfectly suited our needs. Margarida was a fantastic host and was running a kids summer language school during our stay, so our five year old daughter was so happy to watch the garden performance on the last day. The garden is a massive plus point, and I will miss having morning coffee in the ‘Arabic tent’. All together a magical experience and would definitely come again. Here are a few practical tips for visitors… 1. Estoril beach is about 15 minutes walk from the house and was our favourite beach in the area. 2. In the summer months it is well worth checking out the ‘Fiartil’ outdoor food and artisan shopping area which is half way between the beach and house and open from 6pm. They even have a free kids creche complete with bouncy castle! 3. There is only one small organic supermarket nearby which is similar to ‘Whole Foods’, so a bit over-priced. If you want to self-cater, or buy every day essentials you need to shop at ‘Jumbo’ in Cascais which is a huge supermarket, and takes about 30 minutes to walk to from Estoril beach along the promenade. 4. ..However, for an emergency litre of milk (or bottle of wine) you can use the BP petrol stations by the beach. 5. You can catch the 418 bus direct to Sintra from a bus stop on the same street as the house. Make sure you flag it down though! 6. The small patisserie inside Estoril train station serves great pastries, and the Kiosk at Estoril train station sells very cheap bottled beer. 7. Guicho beach is a must, and for us as a family of five it was cheaper to catch a taxi from Cascais for under 10 Euros than take the bus.

Margarida's apartment is lovely, rustic and very comfortable. My partner, our 2 teenage children and I felt very at home. I made use of the beautiful garden which was great to relax in and read my book. It also has barbecue facilities. You have to access the garden via the street but part of it is viewable from the apartment so my children were able to easily call for my attention when I ventured down alone to escape their teenage lie-ins. Estoril beach is around 15 minute walk away and Cascais is a quick and easy train ride from there or a pleasant walk along the coast (better when the weather has cooled down). Lisbon is also in easy reach by train from Estoril station. Margarida is an excellent host who was always available either in person or by text, for tips and recommendations, even when attending to her language school, art studio and summer classes. If we had stayed more than a week I would definitely have taken up her offer of a tile painting class. On our last day we were able to store our luggage safe and secure at the art studio so we could do one last day of exploring and visit Sintra (€15 - €18 by taxi) before getting a taxi to the airport. All the staff there were also very welcoming and extremely helpful, ordering taxis and offering access to water and the use of their facilities while we waited. Margarida's place is an excellent location from which to enjoy a beach and city break.

Margarida made us feel very welcome and was the perfect host. Very helpful and accommodating. The apartment is quirky and unusual and very traditional in style. Very comfortable and everything you need. The beach and railway station is a good 15 - 20 minute walk away and you can get trains to Lisbon from there. The apartment is perfectly placed if you want a beach/city break as its position is great for both. Margarida's gardens were lovely and again well equipped with a barbecue.

This accommodation is so much nicer than it shows on the photos. The whole property is super clean and old with traditional Portuguese features. The garden is beautiful too, we had a bbq there and particularly liked the Arabian style outside area. It was perfect for our stay in estoril and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

For the group of five we have, this is the perfect stay without going for a whole villa or two separate places. The house is like a student dorm with three rooms of five single beds plus a living room, kitchen and bathroom. It is side by side to the language school that is always staffed (where the host works) during business hours. Estoril train station (where you'll also find a beach nearby) is an easy walk away and bus connections just outside will take you to Sintra. ParkingThe place is spotless. You'll also have access to nice backyard garden but we didn't have time during our short stay to make use of it.

I love to be a hostess and take my guests to explore the beauties of Portugal!
I can speak 7 languages and I'm at your disposal if you need me to take you to some places of interest or organize a FADO evening and other fun or cultural activities.
Apart from being a teacher, teaching Portuguese to Foreigners at my own Language School - Margarida's School (located in the same building), I also offer Art retreats combined with Vacation, Fun and Sightseeing Tours. You are welcome to use my ART STUDIO as well. I teach TILE PAINTING so it's a great chance for you to learn this amazing portuguese technique. You can also enjoy the common garden of Casa das Ânforas! Feel free to use the barbecue.
I love meeting foreign people and I make my best so that they feel at home in Portugal and enjoy the time spent here.
I'm also a traveller and spend a few week in Cambodia every year teaching English to the village children or at the local orphanages as a volunteer.
I love what I do... I love to make people happy!
Welcome to Portugal... I'll be waiting for you!
