HOME HIGHLIGHTS
BreakfastThis is one of few homes in this area that has this feature.

Phoenix Hall is located in the traditional rural village of Skelton with a pub and 12th Century Church. It is 10 mins from Greystoke Forest and 20 minutes from Castle Rigg stone circle which is a must for any visitor. The House has many original features, including wooden beam ceilings and a large (17th century) inglenook fireplace. Guests can negotiate this as their own space for chilling. The coast to coast cycle route is a short walk away and the mighty Blencathra mountain is within sight.

Cathie and her family were most welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect for the Lakes. We were out walking every day , and Cathie works in a demanding job, so our paths did not cross until our departure. In addition to her family , there are two other residents there...…

This was a strange place to stay, The room had its own door but the door wasn't locked even though I was given a number for the key safe. The room was large but quite dark. I had to venture out of the room in the direction of talking to find anyone. The kitchen was cluttered and …

As other reviews, the house is currently being refurbished. There is a bed, roof above our head, electricity and water. O, and TV. Cleanliness requires a lot of improvement. To the point that we have to put thing down on pieces of tissues (ours) to avoid touching any surface.

It is hard to hear a review like yours when you have spent the whole day cleaning Yes a guest bathroom is being furnished and it was plastered the day of your stay so there were plaster footprints in the Hall so I apologise and have decided to block the next couple of weeks as My reviews are valuable and guest feedback is showing that I need to get the work finished. Thank you for helping me make the descison

We are really confused by the reviews on Pheonix Hall. I will start with the positives the check in process was simple but opening the door into the room was not. We never met Cathie but her daughter was kind enough to show us around and book a table for us at the local pub. How…

As mentioned in other recent reviews there ia new pristine en suit bathroom being built for guests so yes there was an element of plaster on the hall floor. It is unfortunate that the toilet roll had run out in the bathroom but there was plenty in the other one and all you had to do was ask! The one towel was clearly an oversight of my poor daughter who again was available and assured me she made it clear that if there was anything you needed you just had to ask. I did notice an empty packet of crisps and a pop bottle in the bin and can only apologise . A lot of what you have said could easily have been solved on the night by simply asking. As for the musty smell!! You could have opened the window!! I have investigated this and can only presume that the wood for the wood burner was potentially what you where referring to and I can only say once again if you want premier inn then this is not it!! And if you are looking for a lake District cottage bed and breakfast you would probably have to pay 3 times the price. Your room was large and accommodated your 3 large dogs comfortably. Your bedding was fresh off the line. You had a TV, woodbirning fire and extra radiator if needed. Your own entrance to come and go as you please and let the dogs in and out of the garden I have been made aware of the front door sticking and am trying to resolve this. I have screwed the knob back on to the lock in the bathroom it had come off and was on the floor it took me 2 minutes. I am disappointed that you where mortified by your stay and that is most definitely not the experience I want my guests to have. I know you have said you would not return but I would like to offer you another night for free at your convenience but preferably after the bathroom is finished .
