Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
A rural fully-equipped self-catering lodge built upon recycled tyre foundations and powered by the wind and sun at the rear of a rural business centre. The lodge is set in a rural location a few miles from the historic town of Wallingford. It has its own fenced garden with South-facing sun deck and views over open fields.

The space
The lounge/dining room, bedroom and kitchen look over open fields to the south, with double French doors leading onto a sunny full-length deck. We have chickens, geese and sheep in the next door fields. The lodge has been designed to absorb any winter sunshine but is shaded throughout the summer months thereby offering a comfortable internal climate throughout the year. There is a small wood burner so the lodge is warm and toasty on those cold winter evenings, as well as energy-efficient infra-red heater panels in the bedroom and bathroom.
The lodge has a large open-plan dining/lounge area, with a separate small well-equipped kitchen and a shower room leading off from the entrance hallway. The spacious bedroom with a large double as well as a single bed has double French doors leading onto the front decking.
The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, gas oven, microwave, toaster, bodum-style coffee pot & frother and a good selection of kitchenware and utensils.
A wooden deck with patio furniture runs along the whole of the South-facing side of the building, looking over the garden and fields beyond.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the entire building plus the adjacent fenced garden looking out over fields and woods beyond. Guests can park right outside the front door and there is plenty of additional parking available in front of the lodge.

Other things to note
The free-ranging geese, guinea fowl & chickens in the fields next door can sometime be noisy especially in spring but there's high performance double glazing and plenty of insulation on the building - and in the summer there's a good chance of free-range duck eggs for breakfast!
We can also provide plenty of hardwood for the portable fire-pit style barbeque if required which can be great on summer evenings!
The lodge is fully equipped with towels, tea towels, cloths, shampoo/conditioner, soap, washing up liquid and laundry liquid/conditioner.
