Inch Schoolhouse is a self-catering 8 bedroom Georgian villa, set on a 3 acre site, ideal for large families and groups. It is furnished with antiques, including four poster beds, bar and chandeliers. Outside it has extensive gardens, woods and soccer field.

Optional amenities, for an extra charge, include:

- Disco/cinema room* with UV glow light, karaoke, video projector and surround sound.

- Large Tiki Hot Tub outside

- 8 person wood fired sauna in the woods

The space
Inch School is a listed Georgian building (1832), featuring high ceilings and large windows, with antique furniture. Fully modernised, it has 8 bedrooms which can sleep up to 16 guests. It has 2 living rooms, reception room and large banquet style dining room.

Upstairs is a large family bathroom with a large freestanding antique style bath tub*, with shower. Downstairs has a large power shower, in addition to a third en suite bathroom downstairs. Kitchen has American style refrigerator and AGA cooker with gas hobs and electric ovens, as well as dishwasher.

The large main living room contains a video projector, surround sound, Amazon Fire TV, and an impressive marble working fireplace, massive over mantle mirror, wooden floors and bespoke oversized Dutch style sofa, and large flat screen TV.

All of the rooms are fully fitted to hotel standard, many having a wash basin or en suite bathroom. There is free WIFI throughout the house.

The house features many outdoor amenities, such as large parking area, enclosed playground, basketball hoop, soccer field, enclosed, wild pond, and fairy tree, frog tree, and two acres of woods. Surrounded by green fields and backing on to a steep wooded hill, the setting is relaxing and private.

The woods have been cleared and are accessible, and ideal of children's and adult games.

* Pets allowed on request, no carpeted area access or on sofas or beds, conservatory for sleeping it’s quite cosy there for pets.

*NO laundry room access. We only provide laundry room access for week long bookings and longer

Other things to note
Inch school is a listed building and was built by landowner captain Percival Maxwell in 1832 to educate the local primary school children so they did not have to walk the 2.5 miles to Downpatrick. It has been completely modernised, while retaining its essential original features, including high ceilings, and large windows. The main living room features a large granite fireplace, with working enclosed fire, and a giant sized antique overmantle mirror, as well as bespoke and antique furnishings.

With 8 bedrooms the house can sleep 16 people comfortably. It has 3 bathrooms, large living room, banquet style dining room, reception room, we do not offer laundry room access, and kitchen with enclosed patio/sun room.

Situated 23 miles from Belfast city centre and 13 miles from the beautiful seaside town of Newcastle where the famous Mourne Mountains sweep down to the sea.

We are ideally located to access several beautiful Golf courses including St Patrick’s Downpatrick, Ardglass and the world famous Royal County Down.
2.5 miles to the south Downpatrick is one of Ireland’s most ancient and historic towns with many attractions. These include the Saint Patrick Centre; the Down Cathedral; Saint Patrick’s grave; a walk down the historic mall to Down County Museum

St Patricks centre in the town is the only Exhibition in the world about Ireland’s patron saint. Here you can take a virtual tour visit the gift shop and art gallery and relax in the cafe.

2.5 miles to the north is the village of Crossgar where you can sample the excellent cuisine in AJ’s diner.

The Quoile Basin and Stranford Lough are areas of outstanding natural beauty and the ferry from Strangford to Portaferry where you can visit the only Aquarium in Northern Ireland “Exploris” which houses sealife found in Strangford Lough.

Other attractions in the area include Castlewellan Forrest Park, Tullymore Forrest Park, Delamount Country Park where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll.
