This is as close to nature as you can get. An amazing place in the middle of no where and with such warm, friendly and graceful hosts. Such a lovely couple who take care of their guests so well providing the best organic food possible. This place is slightly far away from the the down town but worth the experience

So I thought of renting a place to spend NYE and came across Roque's place. Before renting it we came to check the house first and it was just like we wanted. Quiet, in the middle of nowhere. Of course that doesn't apply to everyone but if you're seeking somewhere out of urban life this is the place. As we got there a day earlier the house wasn't ready for us but that was not a problem. Also bear in mind that if you're going there you might need a 4x4 car as the road that gives access to the house isn't really good, or you might take some classes on how to drive to the top which can also be fun. Roque and his wife were wonderful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The hosts were wonderful and really went out of their way to help us figure things out and organize activities. The rooms were clean and cozy and being surrounded by the rainforest was amazing! The room we stayed in has a large porch to hang out in and enjoy the rain forest and it was fantastic! The hosts a re a wealth of information about the area and are extremely warm and welcoming. This listing is also extremely well locate, especially if you have a car... it's only 15 min to Paraty, 20 min to Trindade and 15 min to Mirim-Paraty beach, making it easy to enjoy all of the highlights of the area!

I returned to stay with Roque for a second time and again enjoyed a comfortable bed, wonderful food, access to nature, and the convenience of being picked up and dropped off from Paraty, despite a very late arrival in the night. Ytororo is a very relaxing place, and Patricia and Roque are kind and interesting hosts.

Roque and Patricia's place is situated in a small valley next to a brook where you are surrounded by lush vegetation. Be forewarned that it is about 0.5 km or 1/3 mile from the road with some steep parts if you have to walk it. Unless it has rained very hard you would not need a 4x4 and any rental car can access the house. The accommodations are simple but comfortable. The bathroom has good hot water with those electric water heaters which are the norm throughout Brazil. The kitchen is available if you care to keep something in the refrigerator or cook yourself. The best part of Sitio Ytororo are the hosts, Roque and Patricia. They are kind and gentle people, eager to help with anything you may need. The accommodations are separate rooms in what used to be their home. Now they live close by on the same property. Patricia prepares an excellent breakfast with fresh baked bread, fruits, jams, coffee and tea. Roque and Patricia's house is a great value and recommendable.

I felt so welcomed by Patricia and Roque, from the moment they picked me up in Paraty. I felt a wonderful sense of care from them, while also being very independent, and having lots of privacy. I was really interested to learn about their artistic and activist work, and enjoyed doing some pottery and painting in their garden. I found the bedroom to be very beautiful, and enjoyed swimming every day in the waterfall and river. I was also able to be independent, walking the 5 minutes to the road to access the bus which goes every hour to beaches like Trinidad or the historic centre of Paraty. I so enjoyed coming home to a quiet place and vegetarian meals each evening (around 6pm as that is when the sun goes down).

We had a wonderful stay at Ytororo. Roque and Patrícia were very welcoming and interesting hosts; they have lived in the area for a long time working together with local tribes. They have built the house themselves over the course of many years and you definitely feel that everything was carefully chosen and put in place. Breakfast was amazing with lots of fruit, yogurt, and home-baked bread. This sitio is ideal if you are looking for a quiet getaway that feels isolated but still not far from Paraty (only 15-20 minutes depending on how long you have to wait for the bus) and Trindade (a little bit farther in the other direction but still quite easy to get to and come back). Highly recommended!
