I spent a week in the room and it was a pleasant stay. The host was very supportive at my arrival and gave me a quick walking tour over the neighborhood. The housemate was very friendly too. The room was cozy and quiet as it faces a side street. The internet was fine as well. One of the main advantages of the room for me was its location. I was in Boston for the first time and the apartment’s location was ideal to discover all the historical and cultural sights of the city. First, the South End itself with its historical row houses is a beautiful neighborhood located just to the south of the Boston's downtown, second, the house is in the middle of a very trendy area with lots of good restaurants including the fine oysters bar, the nice tapas place, a pizzeria and the jazz club, so you can have a late-night dinner just close to your place of stay (e.g. after a long day full of sightseeing and walking). The Back Bay subway station (orange line) is within short walk distance (less than 10 minutes). The Back Bay (Boylston street, Newbury street, Boston Public library) begins just next to Back Bay station so you can simply walk there. The downtown and all historical sites in the city center are also accessible by walk or you can use orange line to get there quicker. All the important things outside of the city center (like MIT/Harvard in Cambridge, Fine Arts Museum, JFK library) can be easily reached with the subway by making one line change in the center. Finally, you can get to the airport from the apartment quite fast (I used orange then changing to the blue line).
