Still known today for being the original writer and character creator of ‘Chorlton and the Wheelies’ and the equally popular ‘Jamie and the Magic Torch’, Jo Kemp has traded a long career in the heady world of media for her first love – Plenty Cottage.
Retired from the world of film production – mainly TV commercials and series work - Jo also produced the long running children’s series ‘The Raggy Dolls’. Jo is still writing (even more so) with a couple of new exciting projects on the go including Hoo Ha House (now she has the rights back) and a trilogy called 'The Hourglass'.
However, Plenty Cottage is a big house and as well as needing her writing time, Jo likes people. She is a sharer and what better way to have the best of both worlds than to let out The Duck Wing to those people who will simply fall in love and share in the Plenty experience.
Having lived at Plenty Cottage for some 20 years, Jo is integral to the community and the landscape. Jo is a country person through and through with contented dogs, happy hens, a neurotic goose and visiting grandsons. She manages a prolific vegetable garden, she’s a bell ringer and she’s head steward at the local Flower Festival. Jo is also a wonderful cook so if you’d like (say) a jar of Plenty Marmalade or an Aga cooked casserole, these can be arranged; it’s about nothing being too much trouble.
