The space

The cottage overlooks the garden and the main house is situated in the heart of Great Massingham on the village green. Next door is the acclaimed Dabbling Duck gastropub with free wifi.

This little cottage is really nice, especially if you have young children. The thing I loved the most was the location. We wee always 20-30 minutes drive away from anywhere so we visited quite a lot of places including Holkham, Hunstanton, Shettisham farm, Pensthorpe park (Dominique's recommendation) and Wells-next-the-sea. We also drove to Cromer and Sheringham but they are a bit further. The cottage itself is very comfortable. It was five of us (3 adults and 2 children) and there was enough space for everyone. The girls loved seeing the chickens that Dominique keeps in the back garden, which by the way is very nice and spacious, as well as feeding the ducks in the pond pretty much in front of the house. Only one small downside is the lack of wifi, but Dominique is very upfront about it. Reception was generally OK with Vodafone so I could still access internet. All in all, this was a brilliant holiday!

Very friendly communications prior to arrival were matched by a warm welcome from Dominique and her family on arrival. Lovely thoughtful touches included flowers from the garden around the house and encouragement to make full use of the garden. We felt completely at home.

Dominique and her husband gave us a warm welcome, providing everything that we needed and more: milk, eggs, butter and jam especially appreciated! She kept in touch before our arrival so that we knew exactly where to head to. The cottage was cosy and very comfortable. It was the perfect location for exploring north Norfolk, and great to come back to a warm place with a fire! Great Massingham is a pleasant village as well, with a lovely pub, play area and duck pond. Would love to return some time in the future.

The cottage is very well located for exploring the north Norfolk coast. The cottage itself was comfortable and perfect for a family with small children. Some toddler toys were available for the kids to play with and there was also a high chair. The Dabbling Duck is next door with a play area and family friendly food. They also have wifi - the cottage does not and mobile reception is poor in the area. Overall, we had a great weekend.

Response from Dominique:
Thanks for your feedback Ana, we're glad you enjoyed your stay. Really sorry you had no wifi here - it is unreliable for the whole house at the moment, and Norfolk in general is not renowned for good signal. Also, I know that the 02 mobile network is practically non existant, though we haven't particularly had problems with other networks here. Hope you will return nevertheless! Best wishes, Dominique

I am a busy mum and teacher, husband a theatre-maker. We are recent arrivals here, but love living in Norfolk and the endless beautiful walks..... enjoy hosting, travelling, dance, artistic things. Life is good.
