Ever held a tiny wine bottle and imagined you were a giant? This room is a temporary art installation and is a little bit like Being John Malcovich and a little bit like Disneyland.
Ever held a tiny wine bottle and imagined you were a giant? This room is a temporary art installation and is a little bit like Being John Malcovich and a little bit like Disneyland. The bedframe is an exact replica of the surrounding room but scaled down to half the size. This means guests will have to climb through smaller doorways or over window sills to get into bed. The room in and room doesn't have a ceiling so looking up lets you take in the ornate cornicing of classic Glasgow tenement architecture.
Although we welcome everyone into our house, this room is out of the ordinary. I recommend that you feel comfortable in small spaces and feel able to manoeuvre through narrow passages and thresholds.
The space has its own ensuite bathroom with shower which is only used by you. The room has a wardrobe and closet space for storage.
You can use the kitchen and can help yourselves to tea and coffee.
There is free wifi and we'll provide fresh towels and sheets.
Interaction with guests
My partner and I are in and out of the house but can be reached on our mobiles and are happy to help with any questions or advice during your stay.
Other things to note
My partner and I are both visual artists and have lots of works dotted around the house. The bed in our guest room is one of those works of art! The sculpture is designed to be a place for new and unexpected encounters.
