In the heart of the Texas Hill Country, close to nature, great dining, shopping, art, and fine spirits from wine to bourbon to beer, yet quiet, tranquil, and relaxing. Off the beaten path while still close to civilization, just west of Johnson City, the home of LBJ. Dogs are permitted in this cabin; however, we recommend keeping them on a leash while on the property, since ours tend to chase the wildlife and disappear into the brush. Feel free to roam the property.

The space
Wild Currant Farm is named after the agarita or wild currant. From oak motts to cedar breaks to open prairie, we are working on restoring an old Texas farm. Located on 32 acres of Glen Rose limestone, you’ll find abundant wildlife, including deer, birds, and lizards.
The Wren is an Arched Cabin, built in 2016. The cabin is on the same property as the main house and two smaller cabins, but situated in its own private area. On the main floor, there is a 12'x12' private bedroom with a king bed, a full kitchen (Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave), and a complete bathroom with shower. The upper loft has a 12'X16' open bedroom with a day bed and a trundle that can be reached by a circular staircase.

Guest access
Guests can roam the entire property, but only on foot! Other than the main road to the cabin (caliche all the way), there are only occasional foot paths and trails throughout the property. Ask about trail availability - routes get overgrown quickly. Don't chase the wildlife, but you can offer them a snack.

Other things to note
Being out in the country means you give up a few things, like street lights, paved parking, loud noises, traffic, and a paved road to the cabin. But you can still get out here easily, whether you are driving a 4-wheel drive pickup or a Smart Car. Just don't venture off the road, because then you are on your own!

We are out in the country! Over 1000 feet to most of the nearest neighbors, home to some of the darkest skies in Texas, the only visitors you can expect are deer, wild turkeys, roadrunners, raccoons, jack rabbits, quail, and Bob (the armadillo).
