A homely Townhouse, situated in the heart of Brixton, this area is best known for the vibrant 'Brixton village' and marketplace, selling food from all around the world, and for its trendy bars and busy nightlife. Located just 5 minutes from the local Tube station that takes you straight into the heart of Central London within 15 minutes, this is a great place to stay and explore the city of London!

The space

This listing is for BEDROOM 2 in a fully furnished 4 bedroom house, over three floors, with 1.5 bathrooms, a kitchen and a lounge. (You can have a look at the other available rooms via my profile).

The house is shared between other guests visiting London, and so at some times you may have the entire house to yourself, while at other times get the opportunity to meet other visitors or roommates like yourself. I am away mainly but stay close by and so I'm readily available to pop in and give you any tips you may need during your stay.

Bedroom 2:
This spacious room is located on the first floor of the house and is furnished with a double bed, a wardrobe, a narrow shelving unit, a desk and a mirror. It can sleep up to 2 guests.

The lounge is furnished with a sofa, a table, and TV. The bathroom and kitchen are shared spaces.

The house is located on a side street a few minutes walk from the centre of Brixton which is home to Brixton market, The Ritzy Cinema, and a host of shops, bars and restaurants. Just 7 minutes walk from the house you can access Brixton Underground station with trains on the Victoria line that take you into Central London in as quick as 10 minutes; where you can visit London's famous shopping areas, such as Oxford Street home to world renowned stores such as Selfridges; or take the more scenic approach and travel to places such as Buckingham Palace or the famous Hyde Park. There are also numerous buses to destinations all around the city outside of the station.

Guest access

You have access to the entire house, excluding the other guests bedrooms; and will also have access to wifi and a range of other amenities, such as an iron, iron board, hair dryer, hangers, all cooking and eating utensils, fridge, washing machine and dryer.

The house is close to a number of restaurants and shops and 2 large supermarkets where you can shop for food.

Brixton is a great area. The market has good food and Brixton craft beer at reasonable prices. The place is nice and useful for spending good days visiting central London. Transport is near and direct to most turistic places.

I stayed at this house for 5 weeks and really enjoyed it. Tanesha was a great host and communicating with her was easy. My room (No. 2) was very cozy and the desk was handy. The WIFI was stable and fast. The kitchen was well-equipped, everything was working and the fridge was brand new. The washing machine and dryer worked great. The bathroom was clean and I really liked that it had a window for ventilation after showering (-> no mold). The main (electric) shower was broken, so there was a temporary replacement shower installed by Tanesha, which was working more or less OK. The house was located in a quiet street, close to Brixton tube station (7 minute walk) and very close to several bus stops/lines (2 minute walk), so getting into the city was fast and convenient. There's a Sainsbury's directly at the tube station open until midnight every day (turn right at exit) so groceries shopping when getting home from the city was extremely convenient. There's also another Sainsbury's a 5 min walk away from the house. The only thing I didn't like about the house was that it creaked a lot when someone was walking around (most houses in London are sadly built this way, though), so light sleepers may need to use earplugs at night. I can recommend staying at Tanesha's house and will definitely consider staying there again at my next trip to London.

I have always lived in London and know it pretty well. I graduated in Psychology and then went on to pursue a career in acting, go figure! lol. I have been working within the acting field for the past few years, and I also provide drama sessions for young people. This is something that I hold close to my heart.

I absolutely love films and going to the theatre, which should come as no surprise. I love to travel and discover good restaurants. In my spare time I do some writing and I love to read...if i had to pick a current favourite book it would be, 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle.

I enjoy good company, and a lot of laughter!!
