Interaction with guests
We interact a great deal with our guests, offering expert advice on visiting this region over the fresh homemade breakfast. Sometimes I even go rappelling with guests! If you are celebrating a special event, our professional pastry chef is willing to create an unforgettable cake!
Other things to note
We enjoy pets and have a big fenced-in dog-friendly yard your dog can share with our friendly Doggie Co-Hostess Shanti-Deva. Guest pets MUST be dog & cat-friendly. We need to charge a slight $10-a-day pet fee and ask guests to clean-up before leaving. Dogs are only allowed on limited trails in the National Parks so we can negotiate a daily "pet-sitting" fee in addition.
Following a recent incident, we are breed specific now so guests must contact Host before arriving with dogs.
No smoking in the house, there is a garden & deck for those who need it.
Check-in after 4 PM & before 9 PM ; call to confirm any delays (many guests under-estimate travel time so we are pretty flexible).
Please be aware that Utah and Arizona are on different times for 3/4 of the year. Arizona does NOT go on Day Light Savings Time and is an hour behind Utah Time. So if you are coming from Vegas, Flagstaff or Sedona be aware you will lose an hour. Thank You.
We are pet friendly but dogs MUST be other-dog and people friendly. We do charge an additional $20 for dogs, if you

Even after living in Southern Utah for 48-years I have much more exploring to do. Originally came from Northern California, miss the ocean and running thru the woodlands and coastal trails but everything about the High Desert fascinates me now. I am a Writer/ art historian and have worked in South America, Europe, Northern & South Africa, Greece & Turkey. I like to paint, hike, read, am a movie buff and enjoy our ever expanding garden (a couple from Moscow just proudly posed for photos holding our 22" Armenian cucumbers!) and most certainly our very special animals.
Russell and I enjoy meeting new people and sharing stories. Russell was a Rock n Roll Musician in LA and abroad for 20 years, taught in a Music Conservatory in Helsinki, Finland and now is a Park Ranger with Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
We both definitely enjoy the cultural diversity of our guests and look forward to helping our guests enjoy their stay in the SouthWest.
I guess our motto for the day is : "May what you love be what you do, there are many ways to kiss the earth" - Rumi
