Up to 3 bedrooms all with their own private bathrooms and lock on door. Our house where we live too is a spectacular and very large villa with a huge garden. It is perfect for families or groups of friends wanting to get away from the city yet visit Madrid easily and return to peace and nature. The biggest attractions are the private pool, the bbq and private parking. The area is affluent in a quiet and leafy neighbourhood. It's important to come with a car. Non paying guests are not allowed.
The space
Up to 3 bedrooms on this listing if you need all 3. 650m2 house and 2.500m garden. The house has 2 large living rooms, 9 bathrooms and 7 bedrooms, 3 or 4 of which we rent.. All of them are ensuite with their own private bathroom. It also has a private pool which is open all year round unless something goes wrong or it needs maintenance, an outside WC, a barbecue, swings, and multiple indoor and outdoor eating areas. Guests can use the enormous kitchen but share it with us and or other guests. The bedrooms are a twin room on the top floor with 2 single beds and its own private terrace and bathroom. On the ground floor there are 2 more bedrooms. One has 2 single beds, a fouton and a comfortable air bed if necessary. The other room is The Book Room with 2 single beds. We rent 3 of these rooms in this listing. There are single listings for each room.
If you book this listing and don't use all the rooms we reserve the right to hire the vacant rooms and to give you the rooms that are available. There is space for up to 2 cars on the property.
Guest access
Guests have full access to all the house and garden except for our family rooms and family areas, such as our private study or dining room.
Other things to note
GUEST ACCESS
Apart from their rooms and bathrooms, guests have access to the kitchen, kitchen patio, gardens, swings, barbecue, the pool, the pool WC and pool terrace. They can use the pool when it is open and the pool area all year round. They also have access to the TV lounge. They can play our vintage piano in the main lounge too. It is an antique so please treat with care. Please no children’s toys outside the areas guests have access to and please put them away after play time.
CHECK IN
Check in is from 15h until 21h and check out is until 10 am. We can be flexible about arrival and departure times if warned in advance and it doesn’t interfere with the departure of other guests. Unfortunately even though in the listing it states these times, a few guests arrive late or very late and often without warning. We understand that plans can change but one of them arrived recently at 4 in the morning. As we live in this house, late and very late arrivals interrupt our sleep. Thus we have had to include a penalty of 30 euros for people arriving after 21h until midnight and of 60 euros for people arriving after midnight.
EVENTS, PARTIES AND OTHER GUESTS
We cannot accept parties or events as this is our own home and want to avoid noise and damage. The same applies to extra guests, either sleeping or visiting. Only the guests who have booked can be here.
CLEANING AND TIDINESS
Cleaning is provided in between guests staying, not during their stay. We like to keep our house as clean and tidy as possible and hope guests will respect this. All bedding and bathroom towels are provided and the beds are made for arrival. For long staying guests we provide new clean towels and sheets once a week.
When using the kitchen, we would ask you to leave it in the same condition as you found it.
LIGHTS
When not in use, please be sure to switch all the lights off, not only in the bedrooms but in the halls and passages too.
AIR CONDITIONING
The top floor rooms have coin operated air conditioning. The cost us 1 euro for 3h which is accumulative. There are portable
fans in the rooms on the ground floor. Heating is on from the beginning of October until the warm weather is back.
THE POOL
The pool is usually open all year round unless something goes wrong.
It is cleaned twice a week in the summer and less frequently in the winter.
Guests are welcome to use the net to remove any leaves that may have accumulated as the pool is surrounded by trees.
Please bring your own swimming pool towels and do not enter the house with wet feet. There is a WC just below the pool which is perfect for changing or using the loo whilst by the pool.
All of the pool is deep except for the steps leading in so care must be taken for those who cannot swim.
PETS
We have our own dog so for its sake we cannot accept others as it would worry it.
SMOKING
Smoking is not allowed inside but you are welcome to smoke outside so long as you you use the ashtrays provided.
Consumption of drugs of any type is strictly forbidden.
OTHER PEOPLE. There may be other guests or family members when you are here. It is strictly prohibited to bring non paying guests either during the day or night.
ROOMS If you have booked a room on any of the listings and it is not available for some reason, we reserve the right to accommodate you in another room. They are all of a very similar standard.

WASHING MACHINE
This was free until recently but because of continual abuse we are now charging guests.
The cost of use per cycle is 7 euros which must be paid in coins and put into a money box in the laundry room next to the washing machines.
Guests are not allowed to operate the washing machines but must give the clothes they want washing to the housekeeper to do so. She will hang out the washing which, when dry, must be removed by you.
PRIVATE AREAS

SECURITY
To comply with Airbnb we recently cancelled our alarm subscription. The installation is still in place in case we decide not to continue offering rooms on Airbnb. But it is nor working as we no longer have a contract for it to do so.

Born in Cambridge in the UK to an English father and emigré Russian mother, but brought up in West Yorkshire, I married a Spaniard, Eladio, from Leon, a retired teacher of philosophy. I have a degree in Hispanic Studies from Nottingham University. Recently retired I have worked all my professional career in marketing and communication roles in the telecoms sector in Spain (Motorola, Nokia, Yoigo/TeliaSonera). We have 2 daughters.
