Luca's place is breath taking. It has beautiful 180 degree views from huge windows that open fully. The apartment is in a good location as long as you are happy to do a bit of walking; it's about a 15 minute walk up steps to the main town of Ravello (but they are easy and well maintained steps). There is also a bus but we didn't take it. There are many nice restaurants in Ravello but I'd recommend going a bit further than the main square. Luca and Ada were great hosts, friendly, welcoming, even coming to pick us up from the bus stop which we really appreciated. The apartment itself is lovely, full of art and has everything you'd need. The bathroom and kitchen look new and are nicely appointed. Only thing to consider is that the cockerels who live across the road wake up at dawn and like to let everyone nearby know about it.

Loved the apartment, the view was amazing. Coming from a hectic Hong Kong this place was a dream. The apartment was spacious and clean with everything that you need and the coffee shop that's 2mins walk serves great coffee and seems to be open at all hours lol!! Would recommend this property (roasters were an added bonus when I needed waking up )

The overwhelming feature of this apartment is the view, which is mindbogglingly beautiful. Another strong feature is the convenient location, which is steps away from a stop for the local Ravello bus service, which will take you to the center of town for 1 euro. You can also get to the center on foot via a 10-15 minute climb of a steep stone staircase. From the center, you can get buses to Amalfi or walk anywhere in Ravello. The apartment itself is okay, but not great. The bed is uncomfortable (a slim mattress on a metal frame). But even with these limitations, we would have been satisfied if not for the fact that a bar just below the apartment window played loud music in its outdoor seating area until 3 am the first night we were there, and almost as late the second night. The music was so loud it seemed to be coming from the next room. These were weekend nights (Friday and Saturday), and the following night, a Sunday, there was a major rainstorm, so we don't know if the noise would've been a problem beyond the weekend. We tried contacting Lucamaria, leaving voicemails and text messages, but he never even responded, much less tried to intervene. Even though we don't speak Italian, we managed to make ourselves understood in a phone call to the local police the second night, and they told us there was a local ordinance that forbid loud noise after midnight. We called again at midnight, when the incredibly loud music was still going strong, and the same officer answered and eventually went to the bar, which turned off the music at some point after 1 am. However, loud and raucous conversation continued past 2 am, making it very hard to sleep. We were stunned that Lucamaria didn't call us back, at least to apologize. He had plenty of time: we were there for another day and a half. We also tried to contact a friend of his who had let us into the apartment when we arrived and encouraged us to call if we had any questions or problems. She did not respond either. Needless to say we would not recommend this rental and would not stay there again.

Pros: a good amount of space; charming art and furnishings; and an absolutely jaw-dropping, million-dollar view out over the water. Cons: no air conditioning; no seat or lid on the toilet; a very firm mattress; and a rather dim, cramped bathroom. And as other reviews have noted, getting from the apartment to anywhere else requires some cardio. Overall, accommodations tend toward the basic, but compared to the astronomical rates at hotels in the area, this place is a good deal and a chance to see a quieter side of the Amalfi coast--I unironically loved being woken up by crowing roosters and church bells (though my sloth of a boyfriend was less thrilled).

The views from this place are incredible! Ravello is a beautiful little town, not terribly far from Amalfi. However, getting to/from Amalfi and the beach can be a bit of a hassle if you mind the 50 min walk with lots of steep steps as buses are very crowded during the summer months. Ravello is the place for you if you are looking for something quieter. Luca was great, and the apartment has everything you could need. It does get a little warm without A/C during the day but is cooler at night. Would stay again.

Positives: We absolutely enjoyed staying here. The views were incredibly breathtaking. We loved living like a local here. The people at the nearby cafe were wonderful and helpful. In the summer, it was quite hot, but the fan was helpful. Having a laundry machine was nice for our extended travel. Ravello was a wonderful town to explore. Hiking to the beach and Atrani provided beautiful views. We would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quaint place on the Amalfi Coast! Negative: Check-in time for us was 5:30pm. Communication was unclear with the host and we had to wait outside for 45 minutes before our check-in began. Finally at 6:15pm, his friend came to let us in. We also had an issue with the fan, but it did get resolved in a reasonable time.
