"I stayed with three friends while visiting D.C. for the weekend. The apartment is in the basement of a lovely house and the neighborhood is absolutely adorable. It was easy to walk to the Metro to get into downtown D.C., and the apartment was well furnished with enough room for all of us to stay.....and everything there went smoothly. There was plenty of street parking for us to use after we drove in, even though it was a busy weekend DC." (Apr 21-23, 2017)

"We had a great time and loved the place. We met Miguel, and he was such a gentleman, you are lucky people! The location was great, only 10 min walk to the Metro. Safe and family oriented. We appreciated the new and comfy towels, the coffee and treats and my children loved the park! We had breakfast every morning out in the backyard table and loved it! Thank you so much!!!"

"The place is very nice. It's essentially a mini-apartment underneath the house proper, and it has everything you need. Modern and new furnishings, bathroom and so on. The location is great, just a short walk to the Metro, CUA, CVS, 7-11." (Sep 22-26, 2016)

Larry
"Quiet neighborhood and very quiet lodging below the main house owned by the owner. Everything was as described, and although the weather in DC was hot and humid, the AC and humidifier made the stay very comfortable. Although we did not use the kitchen other than coffee, it was adequate to cook a full meal with a good size table in the main room. Bathroom large with a comfortable walk in shower. My wife and I are in our 70's, but their is adequate space for a larger group with access to a large back yard. Plenty of street parking. Felt very safe in the neighborhood." (Jun 23-28, 2016)

Nereya
"Our stay was absolutely lovely! The location is very convenient and the neighborhood is very welcoming. The studio itself is quite charming and it was very clean. We were three people staying and it was the perfect amount of space and we were able to make great dinners and breakfasts in the kitchen to cut some of our travel costs. Plus all the pipes for the house above run through the bathroom making for an absolutely delightful shower experience in the winter! You can hear a bit from the people in the house above but it is nothing more than footsteps. It just added to the homey feeling for us. I would certainly stay here again next time I come through DC." Chi Chi and her husband Tembile have a wonderful place. A nice house with a very nice garden where you can sit and relax after a long visit in downtown Washington. The house is located in a very quite neighborhood of brookland. Both were always available to answer questions and help us whenever needed. You're part of their family and can retreat whenever you feel like to do your own things. My family and I had a wonderfull holiday. Better than we thought. Two wonderfull persons with their two kids

We made the trip to D.C. for the National History Day national competition at the University of Maryland and Chi Chi and Tem helped to make our trip fantastic. When we arrived they greeted us from the porch of their lovely home. Check-in was very easy. We needed to find a Home Depot to finish part of my daughter's project and Tem very kindly drove us to the store for the piece we needed as well as a few groceries. Chi Chi communicated with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and saved the day in a mini-emergency. :) They provided information about the city, loaner metro cards, and snacks to get us started. The apartment was perfect for the three of us. We happened to arrive during a week when the temperatures reached 95 degrees but the apartment was cool and comfortable. The neighborhood is also very lovely. We could easily walk to restaurants. The metro and grocery store are definitely within walking distance but if you're in a hurry a quick Lyft or Uber is easy. The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is located in the neighborhood too. We can't say enough about how excellent our stay was. We would not hesitate to book with Chi Chi and Tem again the next time we're in D.C.

Chi Child and her husband Tim (spelling?) are extremely nice and friendly. Their place is clean and quiet. The neighborhood is beautiful. Hope to buy a house there someday. However, you should no that the location is not really "walkable." It's has lots of hills and is OK for a daily commute but you will not be walking to the grocery store to pick up stuff for dinner.

Chi Chi and Tem are people lovers and globetrotters. We met and tied the knot in Cape Town, South Africa and have explored over 25 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America together. As hosts and frequent AirBnB users, we care about details and enjoy venturing into metropolitan and remote areas for a good meal. Our daughter and son keep us busy but we stay mellow frequenting jazz and music festivals plus comedy shows whenever possible. We look forward to your stay and welcome any feedback.
