A delightful double or twin ensuite room with a view towards The Skirrid - one of the three hills framing Abergavenny. We're just 4 miles from town and offer a peaceful rural retreat in a characterful and comfortable home.
We offer a quality breakfast in our lovely dining room; packed lunches also available.
There's a large dog-friendly garden and secure storage for cycles. We're close to cycle routes and Offa's Dyke path. We have super-fast wifi.
We celebrate diversity and welcome everyone.

The space

The room can be arranged as a double with a super king size bed or with twin beds. An extra bed/cot for a child can be arranged. The room has a chest of drawers, wardrobe, desk, tea making facilities. There is a good shower.
Ideal for walkers, cyclists, couples, friends, families.
It's an old house, on different levels and the bedroom is upstairs.
There is a pleasant conservatory to sit in plus a cosy guest living room with TV.
Breakfast is at our large dining table, or in the conservatory if you prefer.
The garden has a lawned area, a small wooded area, a vegetable garden, a large wilder orchard area and a terrace with table and chairs.

Guest access

Guests are free to use the garden, dining room, conservatory and small guest living room. Boots and shoes can be safely left in the back kitchen.

Interaction with guests

We are very happy to advise on local walks and activities around the area and have plenty of information leaflets available. We can lend you maps.
We enjoy a chat but also respect privacy and the fact that guests have often come for some peace and quiet. The room, house and garden offer space for as much or as little interaction as our guests prefer.

Other things to note

We have super fast broadband but mobile reception is patchy at best. You can use 'Wifi Calling' if your provider has this service (e.g. EE, 3). The home phone can be used for emergencies.
There is a pond in the garden so small children need supervision in that area.
Some of our doorways are low so mind your head!
There is a drive for parking.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sarah's place last night for the Abergavenny Food Festival. It is around a 8-10min drive out of Abergavenny but Sarah's partner very kindly dropped us in to Abergavenny and came back to pick us up later in the evening - which was very kind and not expected. Sarah's home is beautiful and herself and partner were very friendly & inviting, and made us feel at ease and home. The house is set in beautiful surroundings and the room we stayed in was exceptionally clean and well presented. Sarah gave us fresh milk when we arrived back last night for tea in our room this morning - which I thought was a lovely touch. Breakfast this morning was outstanding - lots of choice including fresh fruit compote (it was delicious!!) and a lovely full cooked breakfast. The en-suite was very clean and the shower very powerful. I would definitely recommend staying here, it is very peaceful and easy to get to from Abergavenny. We plan to stay again sometime in the future to explore the beautiful scenery. Thank you Sarah and Phil for a wonderful weekend and for accommodating us so well. You both truly went above and beyond.

We had a truly luxurious stay at Sarah's. It was great and Sarah and her husband kindly came and fetched us from the Offa's Dyke path.

Perfect hosts, place really clean and comfy. Myself and a friend mountain biked at bike park Wales (40 mins) and the black mountain cycle centre (15 mins) room has ensuite and living room so plenty of space. Secure garage for locking bikes away. We requested two single beds which we slept very a well in. Tasty full cooked breakfast and cereals coffee tea etc. Easy to find. No complaints whatsoever. Hope to stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sarah's B&B. The room was comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. A great shower and the towels were large and luxurious. Sarah & Phil were very welcoming, attentive and interesting to chat to. The area is great for walking with some spectacular scenery. Would highly recommend this B&B.

Very clean and characterful accommodation and easy to find on the B road. Location makes a good centre for visiting the local area.
