A beautifully positioned apartment close to tram, train and within walking distance to delicious cafes, shops and services that thread their way from St George's Road down to Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. It's the kind of place that offers privacy and peace but in a vibrant part of Melbourne.

The space

This is a ground floor apartment in a block of only nine apartments. Being on the ground means that space is well insulated, and shady trees protect it from the summer sun. The large windows in bedroom, dining and living rooms let in lots of light and give a feeling of spaciousness. WiFi is also available. The apartment has just had new polished floorboards laid, a new stove installed in the kitchen and the bathroom has been rejuvenated.

The open plan living-dining area is cosy and attractively furnished with all new furniture. The kitchen is galley-style and well provisioned for self-catering.

The separate bedroom has a built in wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom, recently renovated, with bath, shower, basin vanity and toilet. The apartment is well-sized for 2 adults.

Guest access

Guests will have sole access to the whole apartment during their stay, without interruption from me (but I will certainly be available via mobile phone and email). They are also able to use the coin operated washing machine and dryer in the apartment's share laundry on the second floor.
There is an off-street car space also available to guests.

Interaction with guests

Interaction with guests will usually be via email and mobile phone. I have a key safe for guests to use so there will be no problem checking in after hours if need be.

Other things to note

Instructions about keys are available in the House Manual (accessible with your itinerary after your booking is complete).
To use the laundry facilities in the apartment block, turn on the bottom switch in the bathroom, then make sure the power cord for the machine in the laundry is in the socket labelled "1". Please remember to turn off switch in bathroom when you've finished.

Smoking is not permitted within the apartment. Pets are not allowed, due to Body Corporate rules. I also expect the place to be left clean and tidy when guests depart, and for guests to respect the needs of tenants living in the other apartments.

Sue's place was in a great location, super close to the bars and restaurants of Fitzroy and a short tram into the city. We had just arrived in Australia from the UK and staying here allowed a very convenient, easy and comfortable first week in the country. Sue kindly let us extend our stay which was a huge help. I would recommend staying here :)

Sue was really friendly and helpful in all our communications. She kindly let us stay well beyond check-out on our last day as we had a late flight out, which made the day so much easier. The apartment was ideal for our needs. It is virtually silent from road noise so great for recovering from jetlag. It is comfortable and well-equipped and so convenient for trams into the city. All her descriptions are accurate - Munsterhaus cafe is great and the Ceres community farm is also worth visiting. We stayed at the beginning and end of a month-long trip to Australia and it became a home from home. Thank you very much for everything Sue!

My friend and I had a brilliant 5 days staying at Sue's apartment. It was the perfect location to hang out in Fitzroy and one tram ride away to the city. Fitzroy is a really trendy area with lots of great bars and places to eat. The apartment is really spacious and could easily house more than two people. The bed is extremely comfortable and large. The sofa is also extremely comfortable and big enough for the two of us to stretch out and watch TV. It became our little home away from home and we didn't want to leave!

I live with my teenage son in a lovely rural area near Bendigo, where I work as a lecturer in Arts. I love travelling, and my current favorite place in the world is Ubud, Bali. But I have also had wonderful holidays in Great Britain, Europe and Canada.
