Set on the eastern part of the island, Avlemonas is a coastal village with picturesque bays. Swimming and diving, walking up to the Venetian fortress-observatory, witnessing the romantic atmosphere. Life is peaceful here while the crystal water of Avlemonas is right in front of you.
It is built in a large terrace and features a spacious living room area, a dining room, an open plan fully equipped kitchen, one master bedroom, one separate bathroom and one outdoor shower. The courtyard and the outdoor area have the most charming features as dining area, barbeque, verandas with beautiful all-round views to the sea and the Venetian fortress.
Externally, the building has been built in line with local traditional architectural style, with stones and sunny and shaded seating areas outside while internally it is fully furnished, ample space within the house and carefully decorated with selected objects.
The house is fully equipped featuring TV, DVD player, free wi-fi internet, i-pod dock station while there is the option of providing house service. The house can be rented as a whole throughout the year for a minimum of seven days and can conveniently accommodate up to 4 people. An ideal place for a family vacation or a romantic escape.
KYTHIRA ISLAND
Kythira is an island in the Ionian Sea, which lies southwest of Laconia peninsula and into the arms of the Aegean and the Cretan Sea. Kythira had been a crossroads of merchants, sailors, and conquerors. This is reflected in its architecture (a blend of traditional, Aegean and Venetian elements), as well as the traditions and customs, influenced by centuries of coexistence of the Greek, Venetian, and British civilizations as well as its numerous visitors. It is known as the island of Aphrodite with turquoise seas, beautiful villages, castles, caves and many major attractions. Kythira is not very cosmopolitan island remains a natural and quiet so it is ideal for those who love relaxing holidays. Kythira is the place to relax, enjoy the peace, sun and nature - a true hidden treasure in the Mediterranean. Kythira is frequented mostly by Greeks and few foreigners, although English is understood and spoken everywhere. CASTLE OF KYTHIRA:
The castle of Kythira is built at Chora with view to the south. It is built by the Venetians in the 16th century and it is a very important sight of the island. Inside and around the castle there are many churches which are dated back to the 15th century. One church is dedicated to Panagia Myrtidiotissa, the protector of the island.
The Byzantine capital of the island Paleochora and Kaki Lagada, the wonderful exit of Paleochora gorge. Saint Sofia cave (Mylopotamos), Byzantine Museum ( Kato Livadi), Chytra ( cruises from Kapsali with bottomglass), Stone Bridge of Kato Livadi ( the biggest stone bridge of the balcanian countries, built in 1822).
