With panoramic view of the Cretan Sea & unforgettable sunsets, apARTment of 38m2 plus a 2nd room of 30m2, that is the kitchen & sitting room, decorated as a traditional greek café.
The “never on monday” apARTments are locaded on a small hill & in a private building with notable architecture, paintings & antiques. In a quiet neighbourhood, with easy parking they are at a walking distance of 8’ from the Old Town & the Central Bus Station, 15’ from the center of the town & 550m from a quiet beach.

The space
The apARTment “never on monday” 02 is easily accessible by lift, through a yard on Reas Street.
What is unique about it, is that, apart from your own studio-apARTment you have access at a private kitchen-sitting room, decorated in a way that gives you the sense of being in a traditional greek kafenio (café). The studio and the café are absolutely independent. The one is next to the other and they both have balcony doors to the same terrace.

The studio-apARTment has paintings and other works of art, contemporary as well as vintage furniture.
It provides a big wardrobe, a mini- bar fridge, a bookcase and an attractive bathroom with a bathtab.
Α solid wood screen separates the sleeping area from the spacious living area, which includes a sofa-bed and a desk.
The whole space is kept cool either by air-condition, either by a noiseless, wooden, eco-friendly fan, according to your preferance.
In its bookcase, the visitor will be able to find travel guides on Rethymno and Crete as well as brochures with information about the local sights and museums.

The open-sky view of the blue Cretan Sea extending to the Cape of Chania together with the breathtaking sunset colors will surely provide countless photography opportunities…

Traditional Cretan products such as rusk bread, thyme honey, jams, fresh eggs, local olives, delicious tomatoes, seasonal fruit and oranges for freshly squeezed juices are provided for the visitor in order to prepare their own first breakfast and have a first – hand experience of the infamous Cretan diet. During your stay, you may have greek coffee, french coffee or cretan herbs tea whenever you like. Of course, the traditional Cretan Raki will be always available for you.

The café belongs exclusively to the apartment.
It is decorated for giving the sense of being in a traditional greek kafenio (café), and that’s why it is an ideal space for reading, playing board games, chess, backgammon or just relaxing with a cup of greek coffee. It is fully equipped, providing a fridge, toasters, coffee maker – everything you need in order to enjoy your coffee or cretan herbs tea in a selection of beautiful vintage porcelain cups. Or why not try the traditional local drink, home- made raki?
Surrounded by works of art, antique objects and delicate colors, we hope this unique space will make you feel relaxed by enjoying the endless blue of the sea and the sunset colors of the sky.
The name of our space is inspired by the famous Greek film of the 1960s, “Never on Sunday”, starring Melina Merkouri, directed by Jules Dassin. An original poster of the film, signed by the protagonist as well as the director, makes up the symbol of the kafenio. “Never on monday” refers to taking a break from everyday routine, since Monday has always been the day that brings us back to work.
The apartment and the kafenio communicate with a second private terrace decorated with a collection of cactus. There, the visitor can take advantage of the panoramic view and enjoy the sun in some really comfortable chairs.

Really close to them (5-8 minutes walk), you will find supermarket, greengrocer's , butcher's and traditional patisserie. You are also within short distance of the well-known seaside gourmet restaurants of Rethymno, as well as the “Iroon Politechniou” Square on your way to the Old Town, known for its authentic meze and raki places.
In about 550m to the west there is a quiet and clean beach with a view to the “Fortezza” Castle and the Old Town.
