Garden view

Soak up the view during your stay.
A traditional farm workers 2 bed flint cottage in a beautiful quiet & peaceful location. The pretty courtyard garden is secure.

Little Walsingham is within walking distance, where the shrines & abbey are located. There is also a lovely farm shop, good pub & cafe. Wells-next-the-Sea is 10 minute drive & the stunning Holkham Beach is nearby.

An ideal spot for exploring North Norfolk!

The space
There is a well-equipped kitchen, a little shower room, cosy front-room and utility room. The property has electric heaters, so can be used year round.

Parking is on the village green, just a couple of seconds walk. You can park outside the cottage to load and unload however, as the road is very quiet.

Character features include a brick fireplace, an old water pump outside and Victorian stove (unused!).

The lovely courtyard garden is secure and garden furniture is provided. Bikes can be stored in the garden or shed. Bedding and towels are provided, and there is Wifi. For children, there is a high chair, travel cot, toys and books. The stairs are steep, so we ask parents to be mindful of this.

Children will love the steam-powered Wells to Walsingham Light Railway and the amazing Wild Rootz and Hootz House playgrounds at nearby Pensthorpe Nature Reserve. Holkham Hall also host some great activities for children, and of course there are stunning beaches (Wells, Holkham and Brancaster) close by.

A short stroll through the peaceful village and across a ford will lead to Great Walsingham Barns (art centre and tearoom). On the way, you can see historic Berry Hall, where Henry VIII is said to have first met Anne Boleyn. Little Walsingham is within walking distance, where the shrines and abbey are located. There is also a lovely farm shop, a very good pub and a cafe.

Several supermarkets are nearby and two will deliver groceries if necessary.

Further afield, Wells-next-the-Sea is 10 minutes drive away (traditional seaside town complete with rainbow beach huts!) and Holkham Beach is a few minutes further on. This stunning beach has pine forests, sand dunes and is popular with bird watchers.

There are many more family attractions within driving distance (search for North Norfolk tourism online).

Poppy Cottage is a lovely place for a break from the fast pace of life as it's so peaceful, but conveniently located.

As the cottage is an old farm workers home, the stairs are fairly steep and narrow as they weren't built to modern day standards! There is a good handrail, but we do ask guests to take care.

Unfortunately we cannot accept bookings with dogs.
