Great apartment in a fantastic neighborhood. A wonderful base to explore Amsterdam from with all the essentials, tourist things, good restaurants within walking distance. As is typical with this area, the apartment has steep stairs. Our 18 month old loved the toys available in the apartment.

Our family of three adults stayed at Bart and Jennifer's lovely flat for several nights. The Jordaan location is perfect - a short block off one of the canals with numerous shops and cafes to choose from. Also very close to the Anne Frank House. Bart warmly greeted us upon arrival and kindly left us with beer, wine and snacks. Entire process was very smooth. Only caveat is that as with many apartments in Amsterdam, the flat is up a flight of narrow, steep stairs. In addition, one of the bedrooms is in the attic and is accessed by a ladder. Neither was a problem for our family but would not suit those with mobility limitations. Highly recommend!

January 2017're looking for the perfect place to call home in Amsterdam. You don't want tourists, but you want to be central. You want to walk out your door and tuck into 17th century pubs and lovely shops, restaurants, feel what canal living is all about and what held Anne Frank's hope in the chiming of the Westerkerk. THIS IS YOUR PLACE. The stairs are steep, as is the spirit of this beautiful home in the Jordaan. My young adult children and I had the time of our lives here for New Years. The hosts were over-the-top helpful in every way, from recommending restaurants and even booking them, to meeting us and helping us with our bags. Love love love. Wish we were still there. Especially if you have a family, this is your place.

Family crisis stopped us joining our friends here but we had great reports in the place, location and the host's friendliness and advice. We were really sorry to miss out and hope to return. Bart's communication is amazing and he really helped us out in lots of ways.

What a perfect home for our family!! Bart & Jessica were absolutely wonderful in making all the appropriate arrangements for us. Traveling to Europe with a toddler can be quite daunting, but staying here made it completely worth it. The house was super clean and organized, childproofed and had tons of toys that made it feel like home. They even had an indoor swing which was a lifesaver in preventing meltdowns. The neighborhood had everything we could possibly ask for, playgrounds within a couple blocks, delicious restaurants with very friendly staff and grocery stores. After visiting all of the different neighborhoods, we decided that we loved Jordaan the best. I would definitely recommend anyone travelling with a toddler to stay here!

Bart and Jessica greeted us personally to show us around their lovely home. They offered terrific suggestions and resources for orienting to the house and city. There was coffee on hand and an espresso machine - wine and beer were offered, we are teetotalers, but the thoughtfulness was very nice! The flat was comfy, welcoming, we loved the terrace! Kitchen well-appointed and we did cook in, enjoyed the local farmers market and fresh produce. Theres dish and clothes washers, easy to use. The neighborhood was lovely, lots of great cafes and restaurants, interesting shops. Recommend Cafe Curtis for excellent Italian, Cafe Tuin for cappuccino and good light food, and of course the local ice cream shop. Perhaps a small note if you havent travelled in summer in European cities...the church bells ring every 15 minutes and there are music festivals and events most weekends, if you want perfect quiet, youll need to stay out of town :-). We traded quiet in for walkable neighborhoods and sights and lovely classic Dutch flat in historic district.  A wonderful stay and many warm thanks to our host family!

What a beautiful flat on a stunning quiet road located perfectly in the Jordaan. We enjoyed a wonderful new year here, with great views of the fireworks throughout the city. We then made our way to the next road along to enjoy a private 25 minute firework show provided by a local business man! Albeit the stairs are steep, they didn't phase my 65 yr old mother, not even with her hip and knee replacement. Bart and his family were wonderful hosts, leaving us helpful instructions and a bottle of bubbles to settle in. Wifi and use of the Sonas sound system were provided. The flat was spotless and everything we needed was provided. Thank you!

Young family from Amsterdam: Jessica, Bart, young Bo & baby Charlie.

We do love living in the Jordaan - Amsterdam. It is central, lively and beautiful. 100's of restaurants, boutiques, cafes, shops, gallerie and bars within minutes walk. And the walks are almost the best part of it - lovely streets and the wonderful canals. We are close to basisically everything in Amsterdam - by foot or bike. And that's why we moved here from 'De Pijp' some two years ago.

We also love to travel: experience cities, landscapes, people and local food & drinks.

Some of our highlights: crossing at high speed through Asia's
most bustling city Bangkok in a tuktuk - Thailand, hiking and climbing the Angels Landing at Zion Park - Utah USA, watching the water go at Igazu Falls at the crossing of Brazil, Argentina and Panama, walking an ancient postal village route between Tsumago and Magome - Japan, browsing the many boroughs of New York City, snorkling the great barrier reef - Australia, tasting 5 different raw horsemeats in a local restaurant in Almaty - Kazakhstan, cycling through the vineyards in Malbourough county, New Zealand, enjoying dozens and dozens of oysters in San Franscisco's many eateries - USA, celebrating a Jewish wedding in Paris - France and strolling through the ancient medina of Fez - Morocco.
