Jane's place is a great location for anyone hoping to spend time in Point Pelee National Park. The farmhouse is very spacious, and we had a great stay! We had a very smooth check-in and check-out, and both Jane and her neighbour were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Jane's farmhouse was beautiful! She and Pixie renovated and redecorated it in 2017, cleaning and brightening it up while simultaneously maintaining its historic character (e.g. painted and stenciled vintage furniture, old fashioned prints, pine paneling on walls and ceilings). The house was so big that we were constantly forgetting where all the doors led (does this one go to the porch?) and there were even two staircases! Our family of four had plenty of space, and the house would also feel spacious for up to eight people except that there is only one shower (although it had great water pressure and lovely hot water!) The mattress and the sheets in the "Spaghetti Western" room were the most comfortable my husband and I have ever slept in/on, and my teenage children, who used the other two queen/double beds, also reported sleeping very well. The only bed that I would not have wanted to sleep in was the smaller bed in the Bunkhouse bedroom, which had a concave mattress (note that the name of the room is a bit misleading because it is just one of the three bedrooms in the upstairs of the main house and in other ways is every bit as comfortable as the other rooms). The sofas were also very comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, the air conditioning worked well, and there were games to play both indoors and outdoors along with a nice DVD collection. The house is a five minute drive from Point Pelee National Park, and our family spent a couple of days enjoying the trails, beaches, canoe rental, and wildlife there. We saw masses of barn swallows, several herons, a baby raccoon, a weasel, Baltimore orioles, warblers, bitterns, killdeer, various butterflies and much more! We also rented a canoe at the Marsh Boardwalk for a couple of hours, and spent a lovely afternoon touring some wineries in and west of Kingville. Jane was prompt and helpful in her communication. The manager, Pixie, greeted us warmly, gave us a full tour of the house but did not hover, and even brought us some fresh farm-grown vegetables and some homemade strawberry jam. Thank you so much to both of you for making our holiday wonderful! I would be happy to stay here again myself and will recommend Soil Sisters' farmhouse to family and friends!

Response from Jane:
Thanks for taking the time to write this extensive review! I think it gives potential guests a good overview of what to expect. We are constantly making improvements to the old farmhouse. The bed in the bunkhouse is actually on an old fashioned spring slat system which makes the mattress appear concave. The mattress is actually new. LOL. Maybe it's time for me to get out my saws and make a rustic bed frame. Thanks for the feedback.

Jane and Pixie were both great. So helpful and responsive both before and during our stay. Available to give us the inside scoop about the attractions nearby. The farmhouse was charming and quiet and the location perfect for our family reunion and visit to Point Pelee National Park. Also had a lot of outdoor space and indoor space for gathering and spending time together. Would highly recommend!

Charming farm house, plenty of room for the whole family. Plenty of space for the family to gather indoor and out. Enjoy the country fresh air while only minutes away from all necessary amenities. The beds were very comfortable as well.

We've been to many places and stayed at many hotels, but Jane's place is very unique. It's an old farm house filled with interesting and surprising staff, which brings us back to the old memories. The town of Leamington is amazing and eye opening. I am amazed by seeing rows and rows of green houses, nurseries and beautiful houses, which is a prove that the whole town works hard, I bet that there won't be a single unemployed in this town. There will be work for everyone as long as he/she is willing to work! I told my children God bless those who works hard, Leamington is a testimony. Point Pelee is the southest point of Canada, you should go to have a visit! Francie Si
