We were met as arranged by Mario and taken to the appartment. He took all our luggage in his car then explained the workings of the house. The location couldn't have been better...private with spectacular views of the bay. It was easy to get to the train station and local shops. The take way pizzas from Hotel Mary next door were delicious and good value. The near beach was a bit dirty after the storms of the night before but the one further into town was very good.

A wonderful location just a short walk down steep steps (a Roman street apparently) to a beach and harbour with restaurants and bars overlooking the Bay of Naples. In the other direction the centre of Vico Equensa with its busy square, shops, restaurants and friendly locals. The house itself it perfectly located in a private complex of holiday homes and villas perched above the sea with wonderful views, especially at sunset, from the terrace and main bedroom window. We had a wonderful 5 nights and used the Cirvumvesuvium to go to Sorrento from where we took the ferry to Capri and Sita bus to Amalfi coast. We could have stayed longer and travelled to Pompei and Herculaneum as well. Definitely no need for a car. We were met at the station by Mario who showed us round and gave us directions. The house is calm and cool with lovely tiled floors and shutters. A private terrace perfect for sunbathing. Thanks to Giuseppe for sharing his home.

It was a very nice stay at Giuseppe's villa in Vico Equense. The house is spacious (we were 7 people including two kids in extra beds, inhabiting two bed rooms), with terrace and balcony. The living room and the terrasse are really gorgeous, and one has a beautiful view from the terrace over the Gulf of neaples towards Ischia). The villa has nice internet and via some "100" stairs one can reach a nice little beach (not white sand, but still cool). There is also safe parking space for a car. Vico Equense is a nice little town, one can get really nice local fish in at least two fish shops (one near the super market conard is really nice). The Sorrento Peninsula is safe (concernuing car); in Napoli we used a guarded parking house (recommended). When visiting the Philegreian Fields (Cumae, Baia etc.) our car was broken in in Baia. It was not parked in a guarded parking space but along the main road, with shops open nearby. This did not prevent the thiefs. So, beware of that and ALWAYS use guarded parking when around Napoli, especially north of it. Vico Equense and the Sorrento Peninsula is no problem...

We had a lovely holiday in this super villa. The view from the terrace was a delight and one we never tired of. The villa was perfect for us and our two boys (8 and 11); plenty of room inside and out with everything we needed. It is in a really handy spot, both near the town (take the steep short cut across the road to the right) but private being tucked down into the hillside. We found it really easy to get about to the main tourist sites using the circumvesuviana and didn't miss a car at all. We were really lucky to hit the town's Pizza festival which was great fun to join in with. It is a lovely town with few tourists (you won't get hassled like in a certain nearby tourist trap), good places to eat and buy supplies, in our case mainly cheese, pasteries and ice cream. If you get the bus to Moiano there are some great walks in the mountains above Positano and Praiano - but lots of steps - bring good shoes! This is a lovely place to stay if you want relaxing base to explore from.

A lovey house, wonderful terrace and view, located central only a few mintues to the train. We felt very comfortably there and enjoyed especially the terrace. Could do lots of trips from there without having a car. Guiseppe was very kind and helpful.

Villa Iole is a great place to wind down from the pace of Rome. Vico Equense is an easy train ride to Pompeii and Vesuvius or to Sorrento to explore the rest of the Amalfi Coast, but the pace isn't touristy at all. The villa is a lovely, quiet retreat, and the town is a great place to settle in as a local. The owners of the coffee shops, restaurants, and markets are quick to welcome you into their community.
