Kiteborn #2 is a west facing room with a view of Pamlico Sound and sunsets, and private bathroom. It has its own private deck with exterior access. The TV provides cable and Netflix access. A mini fridge, located in the closet, will keep your beverages cold. The room has a small computer desk.

The ocean is a 4 minute walk away.

The space
Kiteborn is a no-smoking property, this includes the porches, decks, and other outdoors spaces. This is our home, so please respect our rules.

There are 4 individually rented guest rooms on the guest floor of Kiteborn. Rooms 1 and 2 are directly off of the common room. Rooms 3 and 4 are down a short hallway from the common room. The common room contains a pool table, wet bar, microwave, toaster, hot water kettle, and a sliding door leads to a screened-in deck with the hot tub.

The guest kitchen is under the house, and contains a 4 burner stove top, and a gas bbq. We provide pots, pans, and usually have oil, salt, and pepper.

There is also an outdoor shower under the house to rinse of from a trip to the beach, or a kite session, as well as a foot shower by the front door.

Kiters: There is a bridge in front of the house (see the photos). It is 1124 feet away. There *is* enough space inside to kite, but it is small. We kite inside it. If you need a lot of space, you *CAN* walk out past the bridge and water-launch. There are hundreds of square miles of shallow water kiting on the other side of the bridge. Many kiters stay here, and then drive to Salvo day use (10 minutes away)

Windsurfers: The bridge is high enough that you can sail under it.

We're in a private community with ocean beach access a two minute walk away as well. Kiteborn has amazing views of the sunset over Pamlico Sound.
This is a great place for couples and solo adventurers, kiters, windsurfers, surfers, and other beach enthusiasts.

This room has a desk for your laptop if you want to get some work done.
Under the house there is a kitchen with a full counter top, sink, 4 burner stove top, and gas bbq.

This is our *home* that we are sharing. We live upstairs. We have a small dog, that passes through the common area to get outside. We don't allow guest pets, Sorry (we will not make exceptions). There is a Pet hotel/spa around the corner that will board pets while you stay here if that is an option you're interested in.

Sorry, but our listing are not suitable for children under the age of 2. Children between 2 and 14 can stay, however they do count as adults, and our rooms have a maximum occupancy of 2 people. This is due to the fact that we are usually fully occupied and are on a septic field. We do not provide extra beds, sorry.

Kiteborn is dedicated to being a calm relaxing location. We do ask guests to respect quiet hours 10pm - 7am in the common spaces.

The Hot Tub's heat and and jets are turned off at 10pm in observance of the quiet hours, and due to the noise the motor makes. We turn it back on at noon, but it is available earlier by request.

The neighborhood/community is called Mirlo Beach. It is the northernmost town on Hatteras island. The community has a tennis court, a beach area on the sound (if you don't want to launch kites from the smaller area in front of Kiteborn), and private beach access across Hwy 12 for the ocean.

The community has a tennis court, and its own private access to the ocean beach (which is 4 minute walk from the house)
