When I arrived after a long and exhausting trip from Australia, I was met by Simone and her friend Anne. First came a welcome coffee and orange juice in Simone's apartment and then a guided tour of the apartment to ensure that I understood how everything worked.
Simone had taken the trouble to provide a lovely loaf of country bread, a pot of her own homemade jam, coffee, tea and milk for that first arrival.
I was so grateful for these small welcome gestures. They helped to wipe away that feeling of jetlag and exhaustion that one can feel after such a mammoth journey. And in the lounge a lovely vase of fresh flowers! Thank you Simone, you and Anne are both special people and I will not forget you. As I was travelling alone these special little gestures had even more significance. It felt a little like coming home to my French family. I am such a francophile anyway and this wonderful start to my 3 months in France only further fueled my wish to return.
Any traveller thinking of renting from Simone will be delighted.
You will be right in the midst of the charming ancient Quarter, 'Le Centreville'. Everything is supplied, hairdryer, iron, aircon, and unusual for the ancient quarter, a lift. You will be a very short walk from everything, small supermarket, chemist, post office, bakery, town hall, the beautiful main street ( Cours Mirabeau ) with all its restaurants, the local squares and all the markets ...... in short, everything you could want for a dream holiday. Look no further, Simone and Anne live in the same building and are more than happy to assist if need be. I could not have been happier.
