Rose was very communicative and helpful along the way. She was always responsive over e-mail and she works in a small shop near the house and offered up that she was available for anything needed along the way. In addition, we initially booked for two nights but adjusted to three, and there was an errant pricing mix-up that happened with the booking adjustment. Rose was very quick in fixing things for us and made sure that our initial rates applied to everything. Rose was excellent as a host and a communicator.
The house's location is a short walk to the lake, a short drive to ferries for any of the islands, and is also reasonably close to Sandusky. It's also nicely situated in town, being a very close to a great ice cream shop, a pizza joint, some cafes, and is right next door to a nice bakery. Parking on the street is a non-issue.
The house itself is an older, classic home that comes with everything you would expect in such a place. If you're a techie or someone who needs to be within arm's reach of their devices at all times, this might not be the place for you, as WiFi and cable are not in place. But if you're looking for a charming, classic coastal home arranged with lots of art and artifacts collected over the years, this is a nice fit. Rose mentions in the bio that the house is ideal for couples, and I agree. One or two couples on a trip would do well here. The family room has an A/C unit and one of three bedrooms does as well. The other rooms have plug-in fans, so plan or adjust accordingly.
Thank you for your assistance on our trip, Rose. We very much enjoyed our weekend.
