This is a charming house built in 1914. It has an awesome and amazing front porch with wicker furniture and porch swing. The lake, lighthouse, art galleries (including mine), restaurants, state parks and the ferry boats are footsteps away. 5 buildings east from the house is my store - Madame Rosie's Boutique and The Painted Rose Gallery. I have unique fashion for women and men, fine art, home decor, all under one roof. Please stop by for a visit while enjoying what the peninsula has to offer.

Great size house, comfortably fit our family of 5. Great location. Central to Marblehead and right down the road to Lakeside entrance. Kelley's island ferry is walking distance. There is a little donut shop right next door. The house is on a main road but we felt safe. The house is old but has character. We spend most of our time on the front porch. The biggest issue we had was the linens including bedding and towels. They smelled musty/not clean making it difficult to sleep. We ended up leaving early due to this. Overall good location and the host is very nice. I wanted to write this review not to be negative but more for awareness and improvement! Thanks for opening your home to visitors.

Great location! Rose was very communicative prior to and during our stay. Loved being near the shops (one of which is hers) and a couple restaurants in Marblehead. Will stay again.

This place was nice for a group of couples for the weekend. One bathroom made it a little difficult in the mornings. The house is very clean and has enough space for groups to be together. There were a lot pf decorations and antiques everywhere so it was a little nerve wracking since you had to be extremely careful everywhere in the house. Other than that, it was a good price and location.

Rose was very communicative and helpful along the way. She was always responsive over e-mail and she works in a small shop near the house and offered up that she was available for anything needed along the way. In addition, we initially booked for two nights but adjusted to three, and there was an errant pricing mix-up that happened with the booking adjustment. Rose was very quick in fixing things for us and made sure that our initial rates applied to everything. Rose was excellent as a host and a communicator. The house's location is a short walk to the lake, a short drive to ferries for any of the islands, and is also reasonably close to Sandusky. It's also nicely situated in town, being a very close to a great ice cream shop, a pizza joint, some cafes, and is right next door to a nice bakery. Parking on the street is a non-issue. The house itself is an older, classic home that comes with everything you would expect in such a place. If you're a techie or someone who needs to be within arm's reach of their devices at all times, this might not be the place for you, as WiFi and cable are not in place. But if you're looking for a charming, classic coastal home arranged with lots of art and artifacts collected over the years, this is a nice fit. Rose mentions in the bio that the house is ideal for couples, and I agree. One or two couples on a trip would do well here. The family room has an A/C unit and one of three bedrooms does as well. The other rooms have plug-in fans, so plan or adjust accordingly. Thank you for your assistance on our trip, Rose. We very much enjoyed our weekend.

First off, Rose herself is great. She's extremely responsive, very upfront about what you can expect in terms of amenities, and communicative about the check-in process. That said, this place is a lot like staying at your grandmother's house. At least, it's a lot like staying at *my* 90-year-old, very Catholic, grandma's house. There are A LOT of crucifixes. There's a light-up Jesus statue complete with stigmata. There are inspirational religious messages on the stairs. There are knickknacks EVERYWHERE. There's definitely a lot more character here than one of the chains nearby, but it's...kind of...a lot. I'm glad I stayed there for a couple of days, but I don't think I could have stayed there for an entire week. That said, some people will absolutely love it. There's definitely a lot of personality. The kitchen and bathroom are new and quite clean. Everything else is quite old, and has the attendant dust you'd expect. It's not dirty, it's just...old. That said, it made for a fun weekend. I just wish I'd known what I was getting into when I booked it.
