§ (1) ABOUT THE FLAT (1)

Berlin has a fame of "cool city", "city of freedom", "exceptional city, which deserves undivided attention". It´s not that sophisticated as Paris and not so posh as London, but the city also has its "golden miles". And as the flat is located in the heart of the most prestigious and magnificent district of Berlin, near Brandenburger Gate and House of Parliament, Potsdamer Platz and Government district, I decided to create a flat, which would correspond to the high level of surrounding.

It has a special target audience: it´s a pretty unexpensive accomodation (in accordance with the price level in Berlin and in this district in particular) for the travellers, who would like to save some money, but still convinced, that 4 walls are far not enough for the comfortable stay! Business travellers, couples, families with kids and just travellers, who are tired of uncleaned and ugly rooms, are welcome here!

It´s a place for those of you who is ready to pay for:

+ the best location in the heart of Berlin near Potsdamer Platz
+ high quality satin bedlinen, which were ironed manually
+ cleanliness
+ unique design & unrepeatable ambiente
+ quietness

The flat it is located in a pretty old house (60 years old) in the heart of Berlin. It was constructed in the 60-s, just after the war, when the locals, who just lost their city (Berlin was badly destroyed during the war) were inspired by new ideas and technological solutions, investigation of space and other symbols of "new era". Inspite of that, the house looks relatively ugly according to the modern standards, but even being "a beast" it has its "beauty" - perfect location!

Almost everything what is in the flat inside was modernized and brought to the up-to-date standards.

I was trying to create something really cool & extraordinary here, not just a flat, where I would live, but a place with its own unrepeatable charm, which can impress and cause nice recollections...

The flat has the total square of 52 m2 and consists of 1 x bedroom, 1 x living-room with a kitchen zone, 1 x bathroom and 1 x corridor. It has everything what a nice flat in the center should have: historical building, nice design and responsible owner. Inspite of my respect to more than 60 years of history, as I already said, I didn´t leave any traces of the age of this place. The idea was to transform this small space as dramatically as possible and create an unforgettable ambiente, which would correspond to the level of 4* hotel without service...

In the BEDROOM you´ll find a small doublebed (full size; 140 to 200 cm), a nice wardrobe to hang clothes, a couple of night tables and a small cosmetic table. As the floors are covered with PVC, I put as many carpets as it´s possible - don´t care about cold feet. The room is designed in black&white colours and is a wonderful place to relax after a day in the city.

The LIVING ROOM was planed to be a place for chilling and dining. It consists of two zones: the kitchen and the living zones.
The kitchen zone is equipped with a new built-in modern kitchen with all the neccessary things for cooking: fridge with freezer, stove, dishwasher etc. It should be pointed out, that the kitchen is absolutely suitable for the real cocking: it also has a Nespresso coffee-mashine, a cattle and a toaster. I also put a lot of different cups and glasses, cuttlery, pans and sauce pans. So if cooking is of great value to you, it should be your place :)
The living zone is determined by a nice wall unit in silver-balck colours. There´s a big TV on the wall unit, which you can enjoy, sitting on the nice couch...

The BATHROOM is actually also very nice. I understand how important it is to have a clean and fresh bathroom, that´s why I rebuilt it completely. So the square of the bathroom is quite limited and besides WC itself, there´s only a shower cabin and a wash-basin here. There´s also a washing mashine at your disposal, so it´s a great option for those of you, who make a long trip around Europe and need to make laundry.

I had quite a lot of travellers in this flat and I´m very happy to get their feedbacks to know what can be made better. More than 80% travellers estimated this flat with their valuable 5* - it says much more as all the descriptions and pictures...

§ (1.2.) IMPORTANT INFORMATION (1.2.)

A) Party-guests are NOT WELCOME here! Please, ignore this advert, if you are going to celebrate anything or listen to the music at night time etc. The sound isolation of this house unfortunatelly reflects its 60 years old history. As the house is full of well-off retired people and families with kids, I have to ask you to keep it in mind and respect this rule carefully.

B) It´s a NON-SMOKING apartment equipped with smoke detectors.

§ (1.3) WHAT THE FLAT HAS (1.3)

+ TV
+ Towels and bed linen (1 person - 1 towel, if you stay longer, than 1 week you get more)
+ WiFi (20 Mbit/s)
+ Hairdryer
+ Iron with ironing board
+ Baby bed & chair (if needed)
+ Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher
+ Elevator

§ (1.4.) WHAT THE FLAT DOESN´T HAVE (1.4.)

- Air conditioning
- Free parking

§ (2) ABOUT ME (2)

Please keep in mind, that I´m a mother of 2 kids, the keeper of the 100 m2 house, which should be maintained on the proper level and a business lady. With all my great respect to you, I can´t waste my valuable time on greeting guests and carrying their bags...
In 99% cases the members of my family will be your butlers.
But in case of any problems you can always leave me a message on airbnb or call...

§ (3) PARKING (3)

There´re no free of charge parking facilities in the house. Please, think about leaving your car in the outskirts (free parking zones) and use public transport to get to the center.

§ (4) ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD (4)

Mitte - is the district, where everything is: from sights and shopping malls to restaurants and clubs, from art objects to nice parks. It is located in the heart of the city and is well connected by the excellent transportation system. It’s one of the best districts in Berlin in terms of everything. The demand for housing exceeds the supply. This district is peaceful, safe and central.

By the way, one of the best description in English about this district I found in the blog of Joseph Pearson - Canadian writer, who moved to Berlin. His blog is a more or less travel guide and contains not only personal impressions, but also a lot of valuable advises! Let me just paste a quotation from his blog: "Potsdamer Platz is Berlin’s more Easterly node of commercial bustle, the centre and symbol of the regenerated Berlin, build on high expectations by high-profile architects such as Renzo Piano. Here you will find headquarters of Mercedes and Deutsche Bahn, a sprawling underground network of pedestrian shopping – a good place to escape the winter sleet. Absorb the mid-winter gruffness of the mall staff, and appreciate their brutal honesty as a cherished part of local character. Make sure you admire the rigidly hexagonal geometry of Leipziger Platz, site of a new shopping centre on the location of Wertheim, the elegant Jewish-owned department store whose owners were dispossessed of their property under the Nazis. Lunch at the German-Italian fusion franchise Vapiano, located near the Wall’s former death strip, and a coffee at the historically-themed Café Josty – the erstwhile intellectual parcour of vibrant Weimar Berlin, now housed within the corporate headquarters of Sony Europe – round out the visit to the city’s historic crossroads. Potsdamer Platz is conveniently located near the centres of Nazi Terror. Begin your exploration of Germany’s darkest moments at the Topography of Terror, on the site of the former Gestapo headquarters. Located on a former Arts School, the basement studios where political opponents were tortured are visible under the remnants of the Berlin Wall. Contemplate the long interconnected history of totalitarianism of diverse ideological origin. Not far is the location of Hitler’s Bunker, now located in the car park of a brown modular East-German housing estate. Next to this is the federal Memorial of the Murdered Jews, a sprawling city block that recalls a graveyard. The passages between the stones prompt tourists spontaneously to play hide and seek and to take pictures of one another standing and smiling on the grave-like structures, jumping intrepidly from one to the other. These activities, however, are officially discouraged. The famous Brandenburg Gate is the centre point to this area of memorial tourism, and vendors dressed as East German border guards will happily stand with you to take your picture and vandalize your travel documents. Down Unter den Linden you will find the city’s best souvenir shops".

I have such a great respect to my visitors! And your valuable time, absolute comfort and special wishes are of great priority to me!

But I would like you to respect me, my project and my time. This list of rules should be paid attention on, so that you can deserve 5* from me and my personal recommendation to other hosts!

WITH SENDING YOUR BOOKING REQUEST YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY AGREED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

(A) Do you know, why you pay here less, than in a 4*hotel on the corner? Very easy: because you get limited service. This means you must try to give back the flat in the same condition, what you got it in (including wash dishes after meals). The cleaning fee is charged for the general cleanliness and maintainance, fresh and ironed bedlinen and towels, which you get from me. This doesn't include cleaning of the oven or any other issues which would require extra time. Any additional cleaning procedure will be charged to the guests at a standard rate of 20 €.

(B) As long as the neighbors in the house are mostly well-off retired people and they would like to be respected too, I allowed them to call the police each time, when they feel disturbed with loud music or laughing or washing mashine launched etc. in the night time. Please, save your time on communication with our wonderful police.

(C) Check-in and -out times are pretty strict here! If your plane lands at 22 o´clock and you need 1 hour or more to get to the city by public transport - it´s not your place to stay, the reservation will be canceled. EXCEPTIONS are 1) summer season from April to October and 2) personal transfer service, if you would like my husband to pick you up from the point of arrival.
The same thing is with check-out time: this place is normally booked off every single day, it means there´s always a reservation after you and the flat should be empty by 12 o´clock.

I would like to thank you for following the rules and will do my best to make your stay pleasant and comfortable.

Warm hugs!

Question from the interview with me: What would you consist of, if you were a sandwich? My answer: If I were a sandwich, I would definitely consist of honey oat bread, avocado spread instead of butter, rucolla, tuna paste, a lot of vegetables and jalapenos :) Life question…
