Mickey's cottage is a (pet friendly) traditional thatched Irish cottage that has been carefully restored and is fully heated with all mod cons. Features such as the bog oak roof, open turf fire, flagged stone floor and antique pine furniture create a timeless and relaxing atmosphere. Mickey's cottage is featured on the stunning 'Wild Atlantic Way' and is surrounded by breathtaking views of the Urris Hills and beaches.

The space
Mickeys cottage has an open kitchen and living room area, 'the heart of the home', which includes, dining table, benches and chairs, dresser, a fireplace, and comfortable 'lounge' chairs and couches.

The kitchens has a gas cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board, and essential crockery, cutlery and cookware. There is access to a communal washing machine and a outside clothes line.

The bedroom has a large double iron-railed poster bed with and additional 'Settle Bed' next to the fireplace in the living area. This type of bed was a common feature in the early homes, and being close to the fireplace, it is warm and cosy. It also had a curtain for privacy.

Mickeys cottage has a shower room with a separate electric shower, a basin and a toilet.

It has a military museum, an art gallery and a coffee shop. View the big naval guns that were used to defend Lough Swilly, and see panoramic views over a Lough that extends some 40km southwards.

My work: Mamore Cottages
Lives in Londonderry, United Kingdom
Hello, My name is Niall Kearney. I manage Mamore Cottages on Air BnB. There is a choice of five beautiful original 'Donegal Style' thatched cottages. Originally built 150 years ago:- they are all similar in style and appearance, and your choice will be determined by the size of your family or group. Each cottage is named after the last owner/tenant who occupied it - Mary's Cottage, Kate's Cottage, Mickey's Cottage, Seoirse's Cottage and Willie Dan's Cottage. Each Cottage has been carefully restored and is fully heated with all mod cons. Features such as thatched bog oak roof, open turf fire, flagged stone floor and old pine furniture create a timeless atmosphere.
