Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Beautifully decorated shepherd's hut in its own field with stunning views across the rolling hills of Mid-Wales. Sited for privacy, furnished for comfort, created with our guests' well-being in mind, we believe our shepherd's hut is the perfect antidote to "busy".

The space
It is our aim to offer our guests the chance to leave behind the busy and complicated modern world and return to basics, close to nature and all it has to offer for a restorative and memorable countryside break. A real chance to unplug from the world and connect with nature.

The hut has been furnished and decorated to make it into a cosy and comfortable space to relax, rest and sleep. A deep wool mattress and wool duvets ensure a fabulous night’s sleep and with lots of cushions, pillows, bolsters and quilts, the double bed can be transformed into a luxurious reading den! The small but efficient woodburner will keep you warm and toasty inside.

We offer the hut on a bed & breakfast basis with a choice of either a cooked breakfast at our house (a short walk away) or a breakfast basket (continental-style) delivered to the hut.

Guest access
There is a composting toilet and basin for washing, housed in a rustic and quirky "Caban" behind the hut.
There is also a basic outdoor-kitchenette in the “Caban” where you can make drinks and cook light meals if you don’t want to eat out (although it would be a pity not to try some of the many wonderful places to eat in nearby Montgomery, Welshpool and Newtown).

Other things to note
The hut is off-grid with limited electricity supply provided by a solar panel and a battery. There is no running water on site but fresh water is provided in containers that can be refilled as and when needed. Mobile phones and other electrical items can be charged at our house.

Quiet rural location with stunning views across the hills that will appeal to nature and wildlife lovers. Great spot for birdwatching. On a clear night, stargazing is a must!

As well as interesting places to visit locally, there is plenty of scope for walking and cycling around us, the lanes being so quiet.

The site has been created with minimal impact on the environment.
