A prestigious apartment in the ancient Palazzo Gradenigo, ideal for a couple looking romantic and historic atmosphere.
The Ca 'Del Doge is located inside the prestigious Palazzo Gradenigo, built in the late 17th century by the architect Domenico Margutti, a disciple of Longhena.
The palace was once the grand residence of the Gradenigo family, one of the most famous of the Venetian nobility (three Doges came from this family tree), and was the scene of elegant parties for the nobles of the time.
Moreover, it is said that the Italian poet and writer Gabriele D'Annunzio in 1800 set exactly in this palace a scene in his novel "Il Fuoco".
Today the building retains its splendor in its ancient courts (the statues, the well, the two water gates) and inside you can still appreciate the old seventeenth-century stucco and some eighteenth-century frescoes attributed to Jacopo Guarana.
To the visitors who seeks a different experience in an old city like Venice, Ca' Del Doge offers the opportunity to immerse themselves in an exclusive atmosphere of nobility and antiquity; In fact, the apartment is furnished in a classical style with beautiful furniture from the 1700s, elegant lamps, paintings and antique mirrors.
The walls and ceilings are decorated with precious original frescoes from the 16th century.
Staying at Ca 'Del Doge means to be surrounded by beauty and history, immersed in a romantic and ancient atmosphere, but without renouncing to all modern comforts: full bathroom with large shower, fully equipped kitchen, Wifi connection and air conditioning are at guests disposal.
Ca 'Del Doge is ideal for a couple or a family of 4. The apartment is 135 square meters and consists of two double bedrooms and a dining room. It is located on the second floor and is accessible from the ancient spiral staircase designed by Longhena in the early 1600s.
