Welcome to my house (a monument!) in hip North. It's super cute (especially women and couples love it!) and the neighborhood is very nice. Downstairs is a very light living room with a really comfy couch, a wooden dining table with design chairs, a kitchen and a separate toilet. Upstairs is a cozy bedroom. Because it's a corner house, there are windows on three sides, so a lot of light comes in. On both sides of my house I have a patio, so you can wake up in the sun & end the day in the sun :)

Hi there! I am a freelance journalist in Amsterdam and I adore my house and neighborhood. My house (a monument!) is super cute and has two floors. Downstairs you will find the very light living room with a really comfy couch, a wooden dinner table with design chairs, a brand new kitchen (2024) and in the hallway the small toilet. Because it's a corner house, there are windows on three sides, so a lot of light comes in. On both sides of my house I have a patio, so you can wake up in the sun and end the day in the sun :) Upstairs you will find my bedroom (I have a really comfy boxspring and quality mattress) with walk-in-closet and my bathroom with a shower. If needed, you can also use my washing machine.

Neighbourhood highlights

I live in the Northside of Amsterdam - the best part if you ask me because it's quite but also near a lot of cafes and restaurants! From Central Station you take the free ferry across the canal (this will only take 3 minutes and the ferry runs non-stop) or the metro (just one stop!) and you will be in this trendy part of town. You will immediately see the movie museum Eye (an interesting architectural building) and the old Shell tower that is now a trendy hotel with a rooftop bar and restaurant and observation deck. From there it's a very easy ten minute walk to my house! You will walk through Van der Pekstraat, a lovely street (the houses have just been renovated) with interesting shops, bars and restaurants - including the very good and cozy Italian restaurant Il Pecorino and the amazing and French inspired restaurant Café Modern. You are also very close to Ceuvel - an organic outside bar / restaurant that host events. Don't forget to pay a visit to the NDSM wharf: the old wharf of Amsterdam. Here you will find a lot of restaurants and bar next to the IJ canal. You can even lie on the city beach at Pllek or in the grass at Noorderlicht.

If you decide that you still want to visit the city center: you are there within 15 minutes - the ferry ride included!

We also have a metro line that goes to North. At Central Station you can take metro 52 with direction North and get out at the first stop: Noorderpark. From there it is an easy 10 minute walk to my place!
