According to local lore, the original property owner, William T. Leitch, grew willow trees along Lake Mendota from cuttings from Napoleon's grave at St. Helena. The Willow Room features Monet-like flower wallpaper, a queen-size bed, and a beautifully designed mantel around the gas fireplace. The private bathroom, originally a storage area for hoop skirts, contains a spacious shower complete with body sprays.
