Masuria is the quintessence of the beauty of unspoilt nature, picturesque landscapes and lakes interwoven with tourist paths lead us in the footsteps of historical events. On our journey we will meet not only the nice and friendly locals but also the lynx, deers, badger, beaver, curious squirrels, a whole bunch of singing birds, storks and other unique species. All those who like long walking and nature walks will lose their way on numerous hiking trails, both hiking and biking, leading through the nature reserves covered by a zone of silence. It is in places like the Koniuszanka Reserve I and II, the Sources of the River Łyna, the Mute Turtle Reserve in Orłowo the person identifies with the environment and feels really free.
In the close vicinity of the cottage (400 m) there is a picturesque lake Omulew. It has an exceptionally developed coastline, a very interesting shape and varied bottom sculpture. It is a lake of glacial origin, more precisely, a gutter lake formed in the hollow of the ice sheet and the rivers flowing inthere. It is characterized by the typical construction of gutter lakes. Omulew is 7.5 km long and quite narrow (about 1 km), has 5 islands, the largest island is about 4 ha. This deep lake (max. 32.5 m, average 4.3 m) with uneven fall in the bottom, which results from the genesis of the reservoir shaped by subglacial water (sometimes even uphill). The shoreline is well developed, its length is about 28 km.
Another interesting place to visit while staying in our cottage is the breakthrough section of Koniuszanka River.
Koniuszanka II Nature Reserve is located 200 m from the forester's lodge in the Wikno village (1.5 km from the cottage). The nature reserve extends an area of 64.6 ha. It was created in 1978. Koniuszanka II is an area covered by old, over 100-year-old stands and monumental oaks.
In the reserve a 1.5-kilometer nature trail has been created, where you can admire the common oak, common hornbeam, birch birch, spruce, common pine and long-lived Douglas fir, found in western South America and eastern Asia.
12 educational stations located along the route is a great attraction for nature lovers. There are appliances used by foresters, tables showing the phenomena occurring in the forest environment and the tree trunks, as well as their descriptions.

It is a deep lake (max. 32.5 m; diameter 4.3 m) with a non-uniform slope of the bottom, which results from the genesis of the reservoir shaped by subglacial waters flowing under enormous pressure (sometimes even flowing uphill). The coastline is well developed, its length is about 28 km.
