Be considerate to neighbors and nature.
Leave the extra equipment in their respective place.
Leave the place as you would like it to be when you come back.

The island is a sensitive habitat why we ask you to take extra care of it. Should you fail to meet our requirements will you be asked to vacate the island without further delay or refund and possibly pay a hefty fee depending on the extent of violation.
Trees are only allowed to be taken down after special permit in writing (email), failure to comply will render a fine of up to 1000 Euro.
Deliberately starting a fire outside specially therefor designated areas are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN and will result in a fine of up to 1000 Euro when no damage occurred. In case of any damage to nature or property due to fire further consequences will be a subject of review in accordance to standard insurance policy and local law.

Special rules for safety
Wood: Chopped wood from the woodshed is for fireplaces in the houses only. For any bonfire we kindly ask you to use sticks from the forest. If you don't find enough sticks you are most likely already having to big of a bonfire already. Keep it cozy, keep it safe.
Location: Choose your site carefully. You can't move a burning fireplace, and for sure wouldn't be allowed if you could.
The fire should not be under a tree or it's branches. Even if the branches are 20 meters above the fire they might ignite and spread a fire at the tops of the trees.
Wind: Strong winds are a big risk factor for spreading the fire. Make sure the wind downwards of the fire is going out over the lake and not in to the island.
Fireplace: The fireplace must not be on the rocks since they might crack due to temperature changes.
The fire should be surrounded by a circle of stones. The ground should be in level and not inclined.
Smoke: Thick smoke might disturb or worry neighbors if the wind and the location of the fireplace is especially unfortunate.
Law: If there is a drought the law sometimes forbids any fire outdoor due to increased risk of forest fire.
Don't burn plastics. Never leave a fire unattended. Wet stones might explode when placed next to a fireplace due to small cracks with water that builds up a vapor pressure splitting the stone forcefully.

Don't leave wetsuits etc wet or dirty in a pile on the floor.
You break or lose something you need to pay for the replacements.

If you bring it to the island, you need to bring it away from the island!

If you use common sense there is no reason for either of us to worry.

You must also acknowledge
No parking on property - You may park at a therefore designated area at the pickup location with the boat.
Amenity limitations - Powered with roof solarpanels the 12V lamps gives a cosy but less then bright light. The 220V system drives all machines but not simultaneously .

We absolutely loved this island. Magical in fact. We fished, swam and explored other islands using the boats. Andy and Charlene were great hosts couldn't help us enough. We didn't book a car which would've been helpful as itgood to park at Simminas which is only 1km from the island. We took the train from Gothenburg and got off at Vestra Bordana which is 4kms away. There were 9 of us (4 adults and 5 teenagers) which is probably enough on the island with sleeping arrangements etc. We will definitely be back!!

Andy's place is the perfect retreat in nature. We were 8 friends and we had a blast - making our own bonfire, swimming in the lake, and celebrating Swedish Midsummer. Keep in mind - better bring a friend or 2 who know how to get a fird started, sail a boat and just all the outdoor stuff. And yes - it also had a working sauna. We will definitelt be returning.

Andy was a fantastic host, very responsive and quick to answer all our questions. And he seems to be a really nice guy. He was also very helpful in the practical arrangement of our weekend. The island is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay at. There is definitely room enough for as many as 12 adults, beds and all! The sauna (a bit too small for 12 people though, maybe 5-7 is better ;) ) with the wood fired stove is super nice! But although we didn’t try the jacuzzi I would say that it’s not at the highest standard. Probably it’s nice as well, but don’t expect the kind of jacuzzis you would find at a SPA. Also the canoes and the rowing boats didn’t meet our expectations since they were a bit worn and especially the canoes are very unstable for the not so experienced paddler. We also experienced some trouble with smoke inside the hut when we used the open fireplace in the living room. But not enough smoke to keep us from letting it burn all night, it just adds some great atmosphere and I believe it to be a temporary problem. Anyway, we are already planning for our next stay, so don’t get scared away by my few complaints. You will miss a great experience if you don't book! Also we informed Andy and he will probably have the issues fixed sometime soon. So to summarize, I would really recommend Andys place, you will find everything you need to get a great experience on this amazing island. Also, if you have time, head up north to Brobacka and you will find some really cool stone features which were created during the ice age.

Response from Andy:
We are glad that you and your 12 friends had a great time and enjoyed your stay over at the cabin. Thank you for your initial kind words we do try our very best to make sure our guests have a great time and formost that it lives up to their expectations. I would also like to express our sincere apologies that the two rowing boats and 2 did not live up to your expectations of 2,5 euro extra per person. Furthermore I'm sorry to hear that the light weight jacuzzi that you did not try on our remotely located island is not expected to live up to your expectations when compared with a 1500 kg jacuzzi at SPA hotel? Sadly neither can i confirm that we are intending to be working on a upgrade any time soon despite you informing us. Nor will we unless helicopter transports and hotel spa drop in prices a tad more. I must strongly recommend any guests daring to visit us after this striking review NOT to use the fireplace the whole night should smoke contiuisly come in to the cabin! Particles of smoke aka smog in the bedsheets and on the former white walls is NOT a great atmosphere for guest that should dare to follow should they suffer from asthma or have a functional nose. Personally I also recommend anyone not knowing how to light a fire to either read the house manual (yes we are making a special chapter of how to use matches) or give me a call and I will gladly instruct as to why and how to open the vent to the chimney and closing the windows to get the right draft from the beginning. So to summarize, I'm glad you had a good time, but sad if you thought you booked a spa. We are continuously improving what we can to increase the wilderness experience while keeping our guests lagom comfortable. To bad you did not stay longer to get to know the place for what it is. Not a spa but a relaxt and comfortable adventure in the setting of our Swedish paradise island. NB: On a totally unrelated note we are henceforth limiting any future reservations to a minimum of 5 nights and a maximum of 8 guest per stay and will no longer offer canoes or rowingbots for rent.

We had a wonderful time at Andy's. The place is perfect if you need to escape the busy city life. Wake up to a beautiful sunrise, heat up he sauna and take a dip in the lake - absolutely amazing. We are definitely going back. The kitchen is limited for cooking and was missing some light. But if you go for simple cooking the place is perfect. Andy is very helpful and answer 24/7.

We love this place so much that we decided to make another trip back to the island since we were in the area. It did not disappoint the second time around. It actually got better! The jacuzzi addition is fantastic and was my favorite way to start our days. Again, Andy was always just a text away if we had any questions. Such a beautiful and unique place. We're so lucky to have visited twice.

FANTASTIC! We had such a good time on that beautiful island. We covered it all: swimming, kayaking, bone fire, breakfast on the cliff, outdoor gym, jacuuzi, fishing, BBQ... The island was even more beautiful then the fotos show and bigger then we expected. Andy is the perfect host. He took the time to bring all 8 of us over and to show and explain us everything. Great communication. Immediate response when we had a question or problem. Highly recommended!
