The villa was nice and clean but it was in the middle of nowhere. The beach was a five minute walk from the villas and the food was SO BAD! There is a shop by the beach and if it's open you may get water and beer only. The hotel charged us $10 to get to villas tropical for snorkeling which was only a five minute drive form there and they wanted to charge us$60 to get to Havana which we were told should be the price of a full day tour to Havana and back. We got another ride. On Sat and Sunday starting at 7am the beach was full of hundreds of local and when we went on Sat out bag was stolen from right under our noses. We also felt really uncomfortable on the beach. Like fresh meat. Everyone was staring at us. On Sunday after snorkeling at villas tropical again we were allowed to stay on the beach there for the rest of the day and so our trip wasn't totally ruined. On Monday morning before we left we went to walk on the beach and it was trashed! Bottles and cans and garbage everywhere. Horrible. If you have a car and can find a store to get food and make your own then villas Loma would probably be fine. Otherwise stay at memories or villas tropical. That's what I will do if I go back there. On maybe if you're staying mid week then the beach would be quiet and probably ok. The snorkeling on the reef was amazing and I would love to go back and do that again but that's only possible on the beach in front of memories and villas tropical. I wouldn't stay here again although the villa was clean and big with a kitchen it didn't work for us.

This is a 2-bedroom beach house in quiet resort. You will not find a hip nightlife here (which was perfect for us as that's not what we wanted!). There are a couple of restaurants on site, one clean and functional pool with a view of the ocean, and a quick walk to the beach. The accommodations were perfect for a quiet get-away. We wish we had purchased food to cook before arriving in Jibacoa, as the stores within walking distance only carry a few very basic items (spaghetti and coffee). It was very clean and quiet, and the best mattress we slept on in Cuba. Next time, we'd come more prepared with information about the area, as there are no excursions available at the beach, and the resort only offers one boat tour, which is quite pricey. We were able to take a taxi here for $40 CUC, but next time we'd take a collectivo. When we left, we were able to pick one up within a few minutes on Via Blanca and return to Havana for only $5 CUC each. There is also a bus on Via Blanca that goes to Santa Cruz Del Norte. The tower restaurant on site was beautiful, small, and reasonably priced for an on-site option (seafood meals ranging from $5-$15). Mojitos were the best we had in Cuba, and the price changed nightly, depending on what else we ordered ($2-3 each). If you book this place, make sure to have a print-out of your itinerary. The concierge did not have our reservation, and it was quite stressful for about 20 minutes while she made multiple calls to figure out what was going on. We were a late booking (the day before), but were confirmed, so it was very stressful when they did not have a record of us or know what AirBnB is. We would definitely recommend staying here, but more information about the location and better communication between the host and concierge would be ideal.

Response from PorelTecho:
