About this listing
Basement suite close to city. Small ensuite shower room. Small kitchen (fridge, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, tea/coffee, NO oven/hob). Price £40 for single guest, £10 for each additional guest. Basic but comfortable. Beds arranged to suit.
Please note for safety reasons we like to have some idea of who our guests are. We usually only accept guests who have posted information about themselves, including a photo, on AirBnB and who have reviews/recommendations/references/friends on the site or who can provide us with their full name and someone to contact in the Norwich area for reference. You will have to enter via the main house but once in the basement you will be private and self-contained. The house is in a popular area of Norwich, which is known for its Victorian roads, English pubs and proximity to the city. We have beds that can be configured for up to four people. The room sleeps one to three people comfortably. It is tight on floor space when all four beds are down. We have one very friendly cat.
Up to four people can share the basement facilities. As well as the kitchen and shower room, there is drawer and hanging space in the suite. The kitchen is equipped to allow you to prepare light meals. There is a fridge for you to stock with your own food. The supermarket is just round the corner. Please note there is no oven or hob and the stairs are steep.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to give you advice on what to do and see in the city. Abby speaks basic French. We are very used to having people of different nationalities staying with us and have lived abroad ourselves.
A friendly neighbourhood within walking distance of the city. Local shops, restaurants, cafes just a minute or two away. We also have easy access to UEA, the NNUH (hospital) and the science park. As we live so close to the city centre parking is on the road but we can offer our guests a parking permit and will ensure they have a space.
We tend to walk or cycle everywhere. However, we are also on bus routes. The main bus station is 20 minutes' walk. The train station is 30 mins walk but there is a bus or it costs about £7 in a taxi.
Please respect our home. No smoking inside. No pets. Please note we will only accept guests who have posted a photo on AirBnB and who have reviews/recommendations/references/friends or who can provide us with their full name and someone to contact in Norwich for reference. Check in after 4pm on weekdays and check out by 10am on weekdays. We can usually often offer more flexibility at weekends. We maintain a flexible cancellation policy as we understand there are sometimes circumstances beyond a guest's control that require cancellation but we do ask our guests to be considerate and only to book if they have every intention of coming and staying for the duration of the booking. Once a booking is made and accepted we are obviously unable to let the space to other potential guests. If a booking is therefore cancelled we lose important household income.
Cancel up to 24 hours before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.
