Bijou guest house. Stay in our converted piggery, built out of local stone and set in lovely grounds on the edge of Ipstones. The Piggery is decorated as a tiny house, complete with its own shower and toilet and warmed by underfloor heating.
The Piggery is a great base for visits to Alton Towers, The Peak District, The Potteries and outdoor pursuits such as walking and cycling.

The space

Our proximity to Alton Towers makes this a popular destination for guests. A great place to relax after a busy day at the theme park!

The photos do this gem of an Airbnb absolute justice. We loved staying here after a long day at Alton Towers, the surroundings were beautiful and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. Rob even helped us change our tyre after we got a flat, too kind! The piggery is just 20 minutes drive from Alton Towers and was only 15 minutes walk to a nearby pub that served great value and super tasty food. The accommodation itself was beyond our expectations, with underfloor heating and a very comfy bed teamed with some quirky little decorations and even complimentary milk and towels provided by the host, we had more than we could have hoped for. The accommodation even had a fridge, microwave, kettle and other utensils. Overall we adored our stay here and only wish that we could have had better weather to enjoy the porch and fire pit! Thanks to Pip and Rob for our wonderful stay.

Great host. Great location. The piggery is really small but cosy and the bed is soooo comfy! We went to a pub around the corner for dinner and the food was great. Perfect for a stay after a busy day at alton towers! Thank you again!

We've just got back from a relaxing stay at The Piggery for 2 nights. The hosts and stay was more than we could have asked for. Situated in a picturesque farm The Piggery may seem like it's in the middle of nowhere being very peaceful and relaxing but shops, pubs, restaurants and things to do are either walkable or not a long drive away! We started off with a day at Alton Towers which ended at an amazing Indian restaurant called Thornbury Hall. Our second day was taken up by a beautiful walk on the peaks, one we found in the walking booked provided, The Roches. Again we went out for dinner, this time at a great Italian in Leek called The Rapoli. Not only is it a great location but the interior and what is provided is also great. The Piggery is very cosy, great use of space and all 2 people require for a relaxing stay. Overall a great stay and we both highly recommend it. Thank you both xx

The piggery is nice for an overnight stay, with the heated floor it is very cosy. The piggery is on a farm and has beautiful views, which is nice to see and experience coming from the city. My boyfriend and I stayed here the night before we headed to Alton Towers which was around 20 minutes away - be careful on the tight roads if driving! Bed was clean and comfortable. We ordered take-away from a local chinese so it isn't entirely remote.

Thank you for your feedback, it is most valuable. Your stay coincided with a very stressful month for me and I employed a cleaner for change-overs, hence I didn't see enough of you and I missed preparing The Piggery myself for your visit. I am glad you were cosy and hope you enjoyed your day at The Towers. Kind regards, Pip

Very secluded, quaint, comfortable property. Very narrow lanes to get to the property but not a problem for us as we were on motorcycles! 10 mins walk to the village centre and to the 3 pubs, our fave was The Sealion because of the choice of ales! We ate in the Red Lion which was good wholesome pub grub at the right price. The bed was super comfy and the room had everything we needed for a night away, including fridge, microwave, TV dvd player with a selection of dvds and kettle. Sitting out front drinking tea in the morning was so peaceful, just countryside as far as you can see. Will definitely be staying here again. Thanks :-)
