We stayed 1 month in Nox's place. It is in a very safe and fancy complex. The house is serviced 5days in a week and has all the appliances you may need. Generally there are no heating system in Johannesburg houses but this apartment has underfloor heating and it made our stay one of the best. Moreover it is very close to Killarney Mall that you can walk to. We had some small problems at the beginning but we could get in contact with Nox whenever we needed and she solved all of them urgently. The internet connection was fine and the gym facility is a plus. We couldn't use the pool because of the winter but in the summer it would be fun. We would definitely stay again and can advice this flat if you are looking for a comfortable stay.

This happened to be my first Airbnb experience. It started out well from signing up to check in. A couple days before check-in the host messaged me saying the wifi will not be on and she will have it done on Monday. We checked in on Sunday. Monday happened to be national holiday where no one works. So Monday we couldn't get it installed. Tuesday came no wifi and so on. Excuse after excuse when wifi was advertised. My friend and I purchased data on our phones and estimated it would last the stay if we had wifi. Since there was no wifi, we incurred more expenses purchasing data to stay connected to our loved ones at home. Not only did we have to purchase more data my cell phone stopped reading my South African SIM so now I could have no calls or communication unless I was on wifi. This problem caused us to have to cancel our Safari. We came with a tight agenda so we couldn't squeeze it in on another date. So now you see we are losing money, being inconvenienced, and missing lifetime experiences. When explained to the host, the host apologized but could not understand the damage that was being done by advertising wifi and not having it. The host states we can discuss a refund and check out as late as we want the following Monday. I am thinking cool, we will work out something fair...... NO! Come Monday my friend and I visited Cape town for the weekend on an impromptu adventure and when we returned Monday at 5pm to check out, ALL our bags and belongings were packed up and moved out the apartment. The host stated that a family wanted to check in early and she told them they could. All I could do is shake my head. When discussing a refund. My friend and I requested a refund for $100 due to the wifi issues. That was less than 20% refund. The host offered $29.62. The host later sent $50 after I pushed the request thru airbnb. Overall this host is about the money, which is understandable. But this host will put your life, experience, and comfort to the side for the next dollar. There were other issues with the unit as well but I feel I have written enough for all readers to understand what you are getting yourself into, especially if you encounter problems away from home staying here.

The guest is over exaggerating the problesm. i offered from R400, R700 refund for the wifi problem with air bnb immediately deducted from my credit card. i offered the R700 without receipts prooving the expenses the guests had to incue. check out is clear on my rules at 11 and no smoking. Guests broke both these rules . when i offered they late check out, the refused and asked for money instead or more days and i told them the unit is already booked. the guests never told me the tv cable had problems, i would have sorted it out immediately. i feel taken for granted by the guests for demanding both late check out that equates to a day's fee as well as R1300 on top of that. i have very happy guests right now at the unit for 14 days from Malawi and requesting to come back again in July. I apologized profusely for the wifi problems and offered to meet the guests half way for the inconvenience but they blew the situation out of proposition in an potentially exploitative manner. That is not acceptable.
