GraceGardens is a haven for rest and rejuvenation. Our sanctuary is graced with majestic trees, stunning views of the San Marcos River, a peaceful Courtyard, and a variety of calming meditation spaces.

Other amenities include a tree-shaded swimming pool, hot tub, fire pit (bring your own wood), free wifi (no password) and touring bicycles. We are located about half way between Austin and San Antonio. Several tubing outfitters are minutes away.

We do not have direct river access because we are 40 feet straight up. There is a lovely low water crossing about 1-1/2 miles from us on a quiet country road. At this crossing is a place where you can sit in the San Marcos River's cool, rushing water. Also Martindale has a small city park with a trail that leads down to the river.

Our gardens are wildlife friendly. They are a mixture of planted perennials and native plants that go dormant in the winter. In early spring you will start to see the magic of new growth. In the summer and through early fall the gardens are lush with an almost tropical feel. Also, what some folks consider weeds, we consider food for honey bees and butterflies. Some areas of the property and the river bank are allowed to grow wild to curb erosion and to provide shelter for birds and wildlife.

If you enjoy bird watching, check out the San Marcos Loop, the San Marcos River Birding Trail or one of these popular, local bird watching sites. Painted Bunting, Summer Tanager, and Great Blue Heron are just a few of the many spectacular species of birds you may behold. Don't forget to bring your binoculars!

Before check-in, if possible, let us know if you want to use the hot tub. It requires manual turning on and off, therefore one of us needs to be here. The fee is $20.00 per each hour of use. Upon checkin you can place your name on the reservation spreadsheet and pay for usage.

Namaste, ~Lee

We had a great time!! We never met Lee, only Frank. Frank was nice and chill. He kept to himself mostly, but made himself available of needed. The house was clean and relaxing. The yard was inviting with amazing views. The energy was very zen. We would definitely love to return!!

If you are looking for a place to stay when traveling to the Hill Country, Lee and Frank's place should be on your list! My husband and I had a great time. The property is absolutely beautiful and Lee and Frank were great hosts. We would definitely stay at GraceGardens again!

Beautiful home, especially the outdoor area. We were in town for a night for Float Fest. Perfect location as the festival was less than half a mile away. Had some troubles finding out room since we came in so late (thought a hall door was a bedroom door), but were given a map of the property and had a pitcher of water waiting for us on the nightstand. Will definitely stay again if I ended up in the area for Float Fest next year!

Lee and Frank were fantastic hosts of their beautiful property. The location is secluded in the woods, but only about 15 minutes from anything you'd need. The willow room comfortably fit two people, but you could fit three if you used the futon as well. The only downside to the room is a shared bathroom with other tenants, if the other room is occupied. It is also very sound sensitive - loud conversations or music can be heard pretty clearly in the main house. For a romantic getaway, it's a beautiful spot - but I'd recommend staying in the cabin instead for more privacy. Overall, great experience for just two friends. Would definitely stay again or recommend to others.

Lee and Frank have an absolutely beautiful property. The view of the bend in the San Marcos River from their property made me wonder if I was in Hill Country or Central America. We loved having wine under the veranda overlooking the river while their dog curled up in the corner to enjoy the view. The shared rooms were just as pictured. This is the perfect place for those who love the country and being in nature. And the hosts are exceptionally kind and very communicative. Frank noticed that oil was dripping from my car and offered to bring me to buy new oil before my car's engine was ruined. He was a lifesaver!
