Located in the woods with view over the lake Mälaren you can live in an off grid cabin life. Take a break from the city's hectic life, go back to nature and enjoy Sweden in an unique way. Check out @pinesandcones to get inspired

The space

This small house is with simple version of solar panel and no running water so you can have a simple yet comfortable life here. There is one main cabin, with a cooking stove and four beds, one double bed on the loft and two single beds in the main area. When the weather allows you can use the outdoor kitchen while sipping on a glas of wine on the porch. Next to the main cabin there is a smaller cabin with two beds and also an outhouse toilet.

Guest access

Nature, beautiful scenery, wildlife, books.
A few kilometers from the cabin you have the farm Äleby Gård where you can buy local game meat and in the summer vegetables harvested from the farm's green house.

Interaction with guests

As much or little as you want.

Other things to note

The cabin life is simple and for the ones that love nature, cooking and hanging on the porch it is the best experience. We love it, and hope that you do as well.
As it is an off grid cabin it is a bit different than an ordinary house with power and running water. There is a solar panel that provide with electricity for example your phone or other smaller devices. The water is stored in a few containers and when it runs out you get more from the lake. For drinking water we have a water purifier.

A simple and beautifully decorated cabin at a quiet, still and peaceful location on Lake Mälaren. We really enjoyed the off-the-grid week we had and spending some quality time in the nature. The cabin was really comfortable and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to recharge from their busy everyday life! Thanks again!

The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed despite its remote location (the only thing to consider is there's no fridge but we managed fine without). It's in such a beautiful quiet forest, overlooking the lake making it the perfect place to switch off and enjoy nature. We loved eating outside, swimming in the lake, running, climbing, walking, outdoor showers and watching the wildlife. We definitely hope to be back.

What a magical cabin - beautiful location, finished to a high standard and wild living only 1 hour from bustling Stockholm. Amelie and Oscar made us feel very welcome and communicated throughout our stay. We arrived in the dark and -2 degrees but quickly warmed the cabin up with woodburner and gas heaters. We stayed for 3 restful days and nights, the surrounding land is beautiful and great for walks/runs and hours can be happily lost reading, cooking, playing games in the cabin. We loved our stay here and felt lucky that they have shared such a place on airbnb - we'll be back for sure! Gregor and Bonnie

We spent a fantastic 2 days in the Wilderness Lodge - barely seeing another person, walking in the woods, swimming in the lake. But then we are the kinds of people who enjoy camping - lighting fires, collecting wood, fetching water etc. The feeling of remoteness that they have created is fantastic (although in reality the farm and other people are just over the hill). Although they couldn't meet us on arrival, it wasn't a problem at all as Amelie gave us detailed instructions. In fact I don't think I've had an AirBnB with such good checks on how we were getting on. We were left to get on with things during our stay - but definitely felt that had we had any needs at all we could have contacted them. The lodge itself is wonderful - a great little find and we wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks Amelie and thanks Airbnb. TIP: Buy some meat at the farm and cook it over a fire/bbq. It was beautiful!

This cabin in the woods is amazing - a perfect example of what Airbnb is all about. A young couple, Amelie and Oskar, trusted us to share and enjoy their new home. For them the joy was sharing it with others. How lucky we were to have found it, the ideal off grid hut. Located right on the edge of Lake Malaren with gorgeous views from two large windows we found solitude and harmony with nature with woodpeckers, red squirrels and deer for company. The living space works perfectly and was well thought through and very comfy. The lack of running water was no barrier to living with a number of containers provided to take care of all liquid needs, including outdoor shower. The log burning stove would be great in cooler weather - we didn't need it on our visit. It is the ideal place to get away from the hectic pace of modern life. We will be back again hopefully.
