We enjoyed our stay at chris and max's home. Chris is an excellent super host. His home is clean and comfortable. Sharing the bathroom with other guests wasnt a problem. Seeing Chris's artwork was wonderful. We enjoyed the delightful breakfast offered to us. Chris told us to take extra fruit and snacks with us which is appreciated and generous. I think Chris has earned his title of "super host " with airbnb. We highly recommend a stay in his home for everyone visiting in his neck of the woods. Thank u Chris and Max.

Staying with Chris was very lovely. His house is quiet and secluded with a beautiful backyard area & a pond. Beds were comfortable and wi-fi was reliable even out by the pond. His breakfast was great though if you drink black tea bring your own. His dog Max is energetic and playful and fun to be around. If you are stocking up for your stay, the Safeway grocery closer to downtown Port Angeles has a better beer selection than the one east of town. If you are expecting to watch TV, we were able to get the TV in the bar area to connect via HDMI input to our laptop.

If you remember this Airbnb is a room in someone's *home* not a hotel, you'll love it. Overall, my experience was excellent. I needed a quick escape before the Summer totally passed me by, and very much enjoyed my short 2 nights in the Alder Room. Chris responded quickly to my messages, and the house was easy to find, even in the dark. I will be back here, next time I come to Sequim. The Alder Room is larger than the pics make it look! Lots of floor space to park your gear, as well as a large closet. The bed is just right (not too firm, not too soft) with a good assortment of pillows to choose from. I slept really well. You may be startled by how quiet the night is out here. People who need white noise / city noise to sleep, will need to plan ahead or ask Chris for suggestions. I'm a late riser when on vacation, so I drowned out other guests' early stirrings by using earplugs. The house and yard are impeccable yet oh so comfortable. As a host, Chris is like a kindly uncle: he let me make myself at home as if I were family, yet never pushed to make conversation more than I wanted (perfect for a friendly introvert like me). Max the border collie is a bit of a showoff :) in the back yard, where he will race around you while yipping for attention. And Max thinks he's human: he wants to insert himself in conversations (esp. when Chris gets phone calls, Lol!). The back yard, patio, and pond are quiet and lovely, and I spent mornings there drinking my coffee in the sun, and evenings stargazing...WOW. Chris generously offers his bar as well, of which unfortunately I did not get to partake. However I peered over the spirit selection and give it a thumbs-up. I think Chris is a whiskey drinker, so if you are too, you'll be in heaven! Two BIG pluses, and rare finds at this price point: 1) Chris' 24-hour cancellation policy, vs. 3, 5, or 7 days on most other listings - a relief given my quick-changing work schedule. 2) The well thought-out Continental breakfast [which by definition is simple, basic] included self-serve Keurig coffee (organic french roast pods by San Francisco Coffee, very nice choice!), hardboiled eggs, milk, o.j., mini sticky cinnamon rolls, and huge blueberry muffins.

It was delightful meeting Chris (and Max), who were very hospitable. I felt right at home. The place was very clean and comfortable and would definitely stay there again if I return to Olympic National Park. Chris's home is in Sequin, which is close to the park. Thank you Chris!

This was a gem of a find. We needed a place to stay after spending a few days camping in the national park. Chris' place is about 20 minutes east of port angeles on an absolutely gorgeous property. His house is clean, inviting and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was wonderful and it was very fun to meet other people staying and traveling through the area. I would highly recommend his place. Max was very friendly and an excellent host as well.

I truly cannot describe how wonderful our stay was. Magical from the moment we arrived, and the best Airbnb experience I've ever had by a very long shot. My boyfriend and I stayed for a week with Chris and his wonderfully sweet border collie, Max. House is beautifully laid out and pristinely clean. Chris provided a lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, baked goods, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, and tea/coffee every morning. We were able to use the hot tub any time we wanted (and we certainly did!). Chris's property was the perfect fairytale vacation feel, with a pond, patio, fire pit, hot tub, full bar, and beautiful woodworking projects (most done by the talented Chris himself). The best part about staying with Chris is that he truly made us feel like family, and we could not be more grateful. He was easy to communicate with, and had lots of great recommendations for the area. We will absolutely be staying with Chris again if we return to Washington, and would highly recommend his place to any other travelers!
