This was exactly the getaway we were looking for. high in the mountains outside Sho Low, Jim and Sara and their children provided a great place to stay, mostly disconnected from the web (you can use their home hotspot, but currently not highspeed/broadband) Dogs, cats, chickens and horses provide authentic charm. privacy provided in an incredible two room suite with rustic log furniture, gas fireplace if there in cooler weather. Close to Sho Low, Pinetop and even the casino, at Hon-Dah, parks, lakes hiking trails abound.

Great hillside home! Pictures don't do it justice. Amazing breakfast.

Sara's place is even more spectacular than the pictures. It was a beautiful escape from the desert heat. While our weekend was warm for the area, which did make the temperatures in the room overnight quite warm, I'm sure more moderate temperatures would provide a cooler, more comfortable sleeping environment (temps were in the 90s during the day). And there are animals, lots of them. Our kids loved seeing the horses, dogs, alpaca, goats and chickens. Sara took our kids to feed them upon our arrival and gave us time to unload and get settled. It is a farm life, so expect to hear the sounds of the animals around sunrise. It is also about 15-20 minutes from town and little ability to prepare food in the room, so plan accordingly. Sara and her family were extremely accommodating and even gave my family a ride to the triathlon I raced in since I had to take the car before anybody was awake. They served fresh eggs and pancakes that morning that I understand were delicious. This was definitely a unique experience that I would recommend for families with kids. Her girls are super sweet and my daughter very much enjoyed her time playing with them. All in all, a great escape and fun experience.

Sara and Jim were great hosts. They were welcoming and made us feel right at home the minute we arrived greeting us outside and directing us where to park. Their 2 children were very nice as well and my children loved playing with them. We stayed for a ski trip at Sunrise and though it was about an hour drive to the resort, it was worth it. Our kids enjoyed feeding the horses, Alpacas and goats as well as the chickens. They were most excited about "finding" eggs in the coup the next morning for breakfast. The accommodations are great and are even better than in the pictures. It's a beautiful loft area with an automatically controlled thermostat fire place and wood floors. Beautifully decorated with special details everywhere. I would highly recommend staying with Sara and Jim. Plan some time to just spend at the property because there is plenty to see and do. We plan on coming back in the summer to get out of the desert heat and enjoy some more time in their great home and with a great family!

The room we had accommodated the 6 of us well. Our grandchildren helped to collect eggs for our breakfasts, feed the horses and some of the other animals, They played with our host's daughters and we all enjoyed a thrilling ATV ride over hill and dale with Sara on our final morning. I cannot imagine a better location existing in the Show Low area. We highly recommend the Ruffin It BnB whether you are escaping the Metropolitan Phoenix Valley heat, or otherwise wanting to enjoy the myriad delights of an extended vacation in the White Mountains of Arizona.

This space was absolutely amazing! It was more than expected. The house is tucked away in the hills and the room is so beautiful, warm and cozy. It was the perfect place for a nice, quiet and relaxing getaway with everything you need including a small kitchen area with a refrigerator and microwave. Sara and her family were so welcoming and friendly. Their breakfasts were delicious and their recommendations of things to do in the area were fantastic. We look forward to staying with them again.

We could not have had a warmer welcome than at the Ruffin it b&b! Our kids felt at home immediately and loved helping out with the lama's and dogs. Sara made us feel at home, showed us around their premises and surrounding forrests and went out of her way to make this a very memorable stay for us. The rooms were spacious, much better than expected. Their love for animals is visible in decorative details around the house. We highly recommend this warm family and their lovely house to anybody who is planning a visit!
