A character cottage right in the heart of Perranporth - just a couple of minutes' level walk from our beautiful beach and with all local amenities on the doorstep. A great mix of character and convenience, ideal if you only need a night or two or are looking for a comfortable base for a few days. Beach Cottage is a great location to enjoy Perranporth's friendly, relaxed atmosphere whether you're just passing through or planning to stay a bit longer.
My two guest rooms operate as a small scale B&B. PLEASE NOTE: this listing is for one room - Lowenek. Please see the separate listing for my other room - Dy'goel. If you are interested in booking both rooms together please contact me as I can sometimes offer a discount.
Both bedrooms are upstairs. They aren't huge (it is a cottage after all) but they are bright and comfortable and each has a standard double bed for 2 people, hanging space and hairdryer.
The cottage is a lovely 'old girl', full of character and I love living here. She's had a lot of work done over the last 5 years - if you dated from the 1840's you might need some serious renovation too! So please excuse the odd rough edge or bit of decorating that still needs to be done in places - it's an ongoing job!
The accommodation is better suited for adults - couples or solo travellers etc., as the cottage isn't child proofed for little ones.
The Dining Room is available for breakfasts or if you fancy a takeaway for supper and want to 'eat in'. The Bathroom is shared and is located next to the bedrooms - with a large fully tiled shower cubicle, hand basin and WC. There are laundry facilities for bits and bobs - washing machine, dryer and iron - but there is a launderette just across the road if you need to do a full wash!
The garden has a table and chairs and an outside washing line if you need to air wetsuits etc.
We have parking on site for one car - please check availability when booking. PLEASE NOTE: if you have a large car - estate or SUV etc - you may find the parking space a bit tight to manoeuvre in a out of. You are welcome to park on the drive overnight but parking here is strictly outside business hours for the shop and you will need to move your car first thing in the morning before the shop opens.
Interaction with guests
The cottage is my home so I will be around to help out, answer questions etc. I also work on site during the day as my gift shop, Tikkidew, is here in a converted outbuilding. The rooms don't have TV or drink making facilities but you are most welcome to join me if you'd like to watch some TV or have a chat and I'm always happy to put the kettle on for a tea or coffee during the evening. I make a light breakfast for guests in the mornings - fresh coffee, tea, toast, cereals - just let me know if you have any preferences or special dietary needs. There's a good choice of eating places no more than a couple of minutes' walk if you fancy something more substantial for breakfast - some open from 8.00am if you need an early start.
Other things to note
Lenny the cat lives here too. He's a sweetie and will make friends with you but please bear this is mind - if you don't like cats or have an allergy this probably isn't the place to stay! The cottage is set back from Beach Lane in a sunny south west facing garden, so is pretty private and quiet despite its central location. You may hear the odd person heading home after a night out (unavoidable in the centre of the village during the tourist season) and the seagull dawn chorus but it's all part of the charm of living by the sea and shouldn't disturb your beauty sleep.
- No shoes in the house.
- We usually lock up by 11.00pm. Later return by arrangement but please don't disturb the owner or any other guests when you come in. And don't forget to lock up - thanks!
- Check in time May - October is from 6.00pm (due to shop on site).
- Guests parking on site overnight will need to vacate the space by 9.45am.
