A character cottage right in the heart of Perranporth - just a couple of minutes' level walk from our beautiful beach and with all local amenities on the doorstep. A great mix of character and convenience, ideal if you only need a night or two or are looking for a comfortable base for a few days. Beach Cottage is a great location to enjoy Perranporth's friendly, relaxed atmosphere whether you're just passing through or planning to stay a bit longer.

The space

My two guest rooms operate as a small scale B&B. PLEASE NOTE: this listing is for one room - Lowenek. Please see the separate listing for my other room - Dy'goel. If you are interested in booking both rooms together please contact me as I can sometimes offer a discount.
Both bedrooms are upstairs. They aren't huge (it is a cottage after all) but they are bright and comfortable and each has a standard double bed for 2 people, hanging space and hairdryer.
The cottage is a lovely 'old girl', full of character and I love living here. She's had a lot of work done over the last 5 years - if you dated from the 1840's you might need some serious renovation too! So please excuse the odd rough edge or bit of decorating that still needs to be done in places - it's an ongoing job!
The accommodation is better suited for adults - couples or solo travellers etc., as the cottage isn't child proofed for little ones.

Guest access

The Dining Room is available for breakfasts or if you fancy a takeaway for supper and want to 'eat in'. The Bathroom is shared and is located next to the bedrooms - with a large fully tiled shower cubicle, hand basin and WC. There are laundry facilities for bits and bobs - washing machine, dryer and iron - but there is a launderette just across the road if you need to do a full wash!
The garden has a table and chairs and an outside washing line if you need to air wetsuits etc.

We have parking on site for one car - please check availability when booking. PLEASE NOTE: if you have a large car - estate or SUV etc - you may find the parking space a bit tight to manoeuvre in a out of. You are welcome to park on the drive overnight but parking here is strictly outside business hours for the shop and you will need to move your car first thing in the morning before the shop opens.

Interaction with guests

The cottage is my home so I will be around to help out, answer questions etc. I also work on site during the day as my gift shop, Tikkidew, is here in a converted outbuilding. The rooms don't have TV or drink making facilities but you are most welcome to join me if you'd like to watch some TV or have a chat and I'm always happy to put the kettle on for a tea or coffee during the evening. I make a light breakfast for guests in the mornings - fresh coffee, tea, toast, cereals - just let me know if you have any preferences or special dietary needs. There's a good choice of eating places no more than a couple of minutes' walk if you fancy something more substantial for breakfast - some open from 8.00am if you need an early start.

Other things to note

Lenny the cat lives here too. He's a sweetie and will make friends with you but please bear this is mind - if you don't like cats or have an allergy this probably isn't the place to stay! The cottage is set back from Beach Lane in a sunny south west facing garden, so is pretty private and quiet despite its central location. You may hear the odd person heading home after a night out (unavoidable in the centre of the village during the tourist season) and the seagull dawn chorus but it's all part of the charm of living by the sea and shouldn't disturb your beauty sleep.

We had a great stay in this cosy cottage. Breakfast was excellent and Caroline was kind enough to let us use her parking for a few extra hours. A visit to her shop is also a must - she sells a great range of local, artisan products!

Caroline is a really accommodating host and was so understanding when we got delayed on our trip down to stay. Her communication was great and she recommended us some lovely places to eat - clearly she's well-networked in the local community. She also runs a little shop stocking some really nice stuff. The property is ideally located, right next to the beach and the sea. We came down for a concert on the beach, so the place was ideally located. There is a private parking space for guests, which is helpful. All of the main shops, walks and so on are within a couple of minutes' walk from Caroline's place. The property itself is a medium-sized cottage. The room we stayed in was a double room suitable for two. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well. The room's positioning, combined I suppose with double glazing, meant that we didn't hear any noise overnight. The bathroom is well-equipped with a nice shower. In the morning the table was already laid with everything we needed for a light breakfast. Because we only stayed one night, we didn't get to try the cooking facilities, but everything looked fine, and there are some great places to eat out nearby anyway. Thanks for a great stay!

If I could give 6 stars for location I would! Beautiful cottage just behind the beach with fresh, clean rooms and a SUPER comfy mattress. Caroline was so welcoming - couldn't have asked for a nicer host. She even went out especially and got gluten-free cereal after we'd booked at 2 days notice! Fantastic fresh breakfast and PROPER coffee to start to the day! Always willing to help, and her great local knowledge really added something to our trip and helped us make the most of our time in Perranporth. Lenny the cat was so friendly too! Definitely hope to stay again soon!

I booked both of Caroline's rooms for my sons and their girlfriends so that I could extend their holiday. What a find! Caroline is the perfect host, very friendly and my sons were made to feel very welcome and at ease in her home. The rooms were lovely and clean, airy and well equipped as was the bathroom with an amazing shower my sons haven't stopped talking about. Caroline's home is ideally situated in Perranporth being a stones throw from the beach and the high street. Can highly recommend.

Caroline was a fantastic friendly host and nothing was too much trouble. Her home was cozy and welcoming. The room was clean and fresh with a bathroom next door with a lovely shower, perfect straight from the beach after an afternoon bodyboarding. The cottage is centralbut in a quiet location and is situated 2 mins walk from the beach, shops, selection of cafes and family friendly pubs. Would definitely highly recommend
