Stunning estate-like setting on an acre of waterfront in beautiful Portsmouth, New Hampshire!

The space

Perfect for outdoor recreation on and off the water!
Great for families or couples looking for tranquility and spacious accommodations.

Guest access

The entire main house, yard, and gardens are all yours!

Interaction with guests

Owners or co-host may greet guests upon arrival but there is a lock box as well. An attached but separate/private apartment may be occupied sparingly by the owners throughout the summer. Owners or co-host will be available for assistance as needed but otherwise unseen.

Other things to note

This home at the end of a quiet street offers excellent privacy with a view of everything the harbor offers. In addition to the waterfront, it is surrounded by acres of park and conservation land, a museum, and historical buildings. Naturally beautiful views are in every direction including those of the Royal Governor’s mansion and the Wentworth Hotel. The historic Astor home at Creek Farm is a five minute walk around the corner.

The home features four bedrooms, three full baths, seasonal outdoor rinse area, sleeping for 7-8, and ample parking. A sea wall with ladder provides for excellent swimming and diving in your back yard and put-ins for kayaks and other watercraft are steps away. Easy access to a tidal sand bar and plenty of nearby island exploring. Enjoy bicycles and kayaks and other recreational toys provided by the owners.

A short walk, bike ride, or drive gets you into downtown Portsmouth where you can choose from a wide array of shopping, dining, and touring options. Kittery’s vibrant downtown is also just minutes away. A 10 minute drive brings you to the larger beaches in New Castle and Rye.

This location is ideal for couples and families who appreciate privacy and room to stretch out, love the outdoors, and want to be in town for all that Portsmouth offers. Besides the master/king, most of the beds are suitable for kids or short-term guests. It is not for large groups or parties. Well-trained dogs are welcome!

High-speed Internet and a Sonos system are available. Sorry, the house is intentionally television and cable free!

This family home is a very old funky farmhouse with lots of character and a casual, lived-in feel. It has squeaky stairs, slanting floors, and sagging doors. It is uncluttered, clean, and comfortable, and will make you feel relaxed and at home immediately. When you wake up here on a sunny morning there is nowhere else in the world you'll want to be!

Everything has already been said beautifully and accurately by the previous guest's reviews. The only observation we can add is our family continued to pinch ourselves that we lucked out finding this home. You've all heard the expression "location, location, location" and it could not be more true for this home. You can not pick a better, more scenic spot if you are looking for unobstructed water views and a huge, beautiful park like grounds. It's obvious why the location was chosen by the first Royal Governor of NH as the site to build his mansion! This home is next to the mansion.

5 Star - GREAT! Our stay at the pink house was wonderful. The environment is pure serenity inside and out. Breath taking views, lovely accommodations for all of our family, minutes away from all that Portsmouth has to offer. Would have loved to stay for longer. Highly recommended!

A real gem in Portsmouth. This house was much more than we expected. Was there with my wife and our 3 teenage children. The house has great space with plenty of seating areas and bedrooms also spacious. The master bedroom has fantastic views. The character of the old house is augmented with a few modern twists to make it memorable. The garden is the real feature. It's large and backs directly on to the water where you can swim off the sea wall. The house also comes with Kayaks and a row boat for added fun and a great saving to have it all included versus local rental. The house is very well stocked with everything you need and the shed has a treasure trove of sports equipment and bikes which the kids loved. We had 4 great ABNBs during our US trip and this house was our favourite. Highly recommend!

The house is amazing, right on the lake and easy access into town. There was plenty of space inside the house and even more outside the house. Its a perfect spot.

This property totally lived up to my expectations for a short summer get away with my active family. We enjoyed cycling, swimming, kayaking and strolling around Portsmouth during the daytime. And spent as much time as sunlight would permit beside the sea wall, taking in the spectacular view. WiFi was enough to satisfy everyone, and no one missed a television. We had a great vacation and the only regret is that we had to leave.

I am an artist, married and mother of two daughters. I have 2 dogs whom I adore and a flower garden that is just a bit too big to manage realistically. I am crazy about sunsets and cooking great food.
