Welcome to your historic homestead retreat. Whether or not you're familiar with the story of Arthurdale, does not determine the satisfaction of walking along the fields and gardens, poking in the root cellar, watching the chickens chase bugs, or taking a hot soak in the hot tub (if it's winter). You can take in the sunset view from your suite before dinner while planning the next day's adventure. Make yourself at home; there's something for everyone here.
Your guest suite has its own mini kitchen (sink, 2-burner stovetop, and utensils). If you want to keep things cool, please bring a cooler! There are several stores within 5 minutes to procure ice. If there are any special utensils you have in mind, let me know and I'll make sure you have them. The suite has first floor access with lots of windows facing out over the farm. I live in the house, but you will have you own locked access and privacy. It is a cozy space for two people (think tiny house, but with a little more breathing room). You have use of the back patio for outdoor dining, but it is a work in progress so please forgive the strange landscaping. You are welcome to walk through the fenced in garden area and down to the creek at the bottom of the field. Just please keep your dog on a leash in case the chickens are out.
You are welcome to find a few fresh ingredients in the gardens: herbs, kale, greens, even a tomato or apple if you're lucky! I'd love for you to be able to poke around the barn, but it's probably better that you don't since it needs some work. If you're feeling friendly and want to hang out in my living room and poke through my library, just send me a text or airbnb message.
Interaction with guests
I will try my best to be at your service, but I am unable, I will send you self-service instructions. I love Arthurdale, and want to make sure your time here is relaxing and refreshing.
Other things to note
You may want to be aware that there are families on both sides, so you might want to make sure you wear something in the hot tub (unless you're stealthy, then whatever). But yes, for now, I will only be running the hot tub in cold weather (October-Mid March). So far there are 8 Dominique hens. Please enjoy them at a distance and keep any pets leashed. You can enjoy their fresh eggs up close. Speaking of pets, yours are welcome, but there will be an extra $25 pet fee to cover extra cleaning. Oh! And I included a few photos of the rest of the house, mostly so you can get a glimpse of the farm dog, Tsuga. She's old and sweet, but if you have a high energy dog, she probably won't want to hang out with it.
- Dogs: need to be under control and leashed. If you have more than one pet, please inquire first. An extra $25 cleaning fee will be added for pets for stays up to one week. Please keep pets off the bed, and alert me in the event that there is any mess made. Thanks!
-If you are interested in staying more than a week, please send an inquiry first so we can discuss it since I am currently undertaking renovations and sometimes need the guest space.

The allure of the other and beyond pulls me in many directions, but I've finally begun to send down some serious roots, pivot points from which I can determine my orientation in this world. We are made of stories and cells, both humbling and awe-inspiring. To share, listen, and create new stories is the stuff that keeps us curious and very much not dead. I hope to meet you.
